Bad price
This is a total steal for what you're getting. The 6900XT can trade blows with a 3090.

Gaming trio is pretty huge, taller and much longer than FTW3 Ultra, blocks about 20% of side mount fans on an O11 dynamic

Disagree. Somehow not only have we normalized high prices, we have ppl defending them and praising them. MSRPs of cards stemming from rtx 2xxxx series have become inflated and are not indicative of "good" pricing. We also shouldn't be comparing things to really bad prices (looking at you 3090) and saying "look how good the price is compared to X", when X is grossly overpriced.

Prices have not been good for years.

The posts here that rationalize how they don't regret buying a gfx card that cost them $200 more a month earlier always crack me up. Why are they even on slickdeals then?

Blocks, or uses? Smilie

I have the Merc 319 and between it and the strimmer it is in front of the side fan, but just figure it is extra cooling.

if your side is exhaust you are good, otherwise the cold/hot air blast head on, not good when fan is spinning, and restricts entire flow a bit more. not a big issue though

Crazy, just several months ago in January, I had been eyeing the 6900XT and they bottomed out at $1450 at that time. This is literally almost half of $1400.

It's not normalizing high prices. What do you expect such a GPU to cost? $500?? This is below MSRP of the original launch price. If you recall a Titan Black back in 2014 launched for $999. Nvidia has been launching GPU's toward the $700-$1000 mark for a long time, it's nothing new with these prices. So don't give me "we are normalizing them". They've been normalized at these prices for a LONGGGGGG time, not just because of the shortage.

This is absolutely incorrect. Tell me a Geforce card back in 2015 that had a MSRP of 1500. 1K will no longer get you a flagship card in 2022.

Should I go with this or an RTX 3080? or stay with my 1080TI for two more years?

Are you not getting what I posted? This GPU in this very post is less than MSRP ($999). Where did I ever refer to a GPU costing $1500? By the way, AMD R9 295x2 was $1499 in 2014 Wink
