Solid deal. This is the Gigabyte A5 K1 Laptop and it is a very solid performer as per various reviews. On top of that full powered RTX 3060, 100% sRGB 144Hz Screen, 16GB DDR4, 1TB PCIe SSD at $899, is a very solid deal.
It is not like that you won't get a RTX 3060 laptop at this price. There are some Gigabyte Intel and MSI laptops but those have too many compromises, including those 45% NTSC screen, 80W or 100W GPU etc.

The only thing detracting me from buying this laptop is that it doesnt have a full sized 0 on the numpad.
Annoying thing to not have in an accounting job like mine

Don't forget the number pad! Lol

For me, it's seriously a dealer break if a laptop doesn't have a number pad. I really liked this deal for the 130w 3060 + 16GB RAM + 1TB SSD + num pad under $1k Smilie

I can see that. On the opposite side, something I hope will improve my experience is having larger directional buttons. The laptop I'm returning for this (HP Victus by HP 16-e0161nr) has a full size 0, but smaller directional buttons, which I really don't like using.

I am currently using the Lenovo ideapad 3 gaming R5 5600H / RTX 3050Ti from last week at 599.00 from ebay
It has great battery, great specs, great price, has a full sized 0, full sized directional buttons, really a great device, seems professional enough (not gamery looking), but suffering from bad backlight bleeding on one corner of the screen.. FML

Finally found a deal I can settle on, thanks! I needed a gaming machine to hold me off for a desktop build until the new gen comes out with good availability and MSRP prices, and this is the best bang for the buck laptop I can find. I don't need the extra CPU power that much, I'll save it for the build instead.

FYI if you want the extra CPU, the Gigabyte A5 K1 5800H version is also back in stock for $999 right now.

PSA: I also found out that there's the Gigabyte G5 with 11400H and RTX 3060 with the same price at BB with identical body, but it's a trap! The TDP of the 3060 on that one is only 105W, a substantial 25W difference. (Edited 75W to 105W, wrong info on bestbuy)

Yes! I almost fell for it myself before this deal. Buyer beware of that Gigabyte G5 if looking for 3060s.

Good call out!

I wasn't able to find any information regarding the screen, aside from the refresh rate. Where are you getting the sRGB number from?

Unusual? The past 5 years MSI and Lenovo have been putting their I/Os at the back. Makes cable management so much easier.

Couldn't find Nits information. Also, if I am using this for youtube and productivity (non-gaming), how long does the battery lasts?
TIA.

Probably about 3-4 hours conservatively speaking. Battery size is the one compromise this laptop made. It has an externally-removable battery, but it's quite small at 49WHr. Most laptops in this segment are running at least 60, and some even in the 70s. Having said that, the rest of the specs are very good for the price.
