Sorry was in a rush to post. James04 said it best but people have different methods. Search Home Depot hack and there are numerous postings and explanations on the different methods. Most entail cancelling within a timeframe or just returning the unwanted items. You can usually tell the price can be "hacked" if each item is itemized individually in the shopping cart.

Thanks. I've been waiting 6 months for a deal on the impact wrench. $126 for the Gen 3, 3/8" is a great price.

HD caught up with the automatically in-store cancellation if you choose for in-store pickup for the item you don't want.
I tried to ship the item I want and in-store pickup I don't want.

And this is the checkout message.

I also got this message, however on my recent order, it was easy enough to have both shipped to home. I then texted customer service who canceled the free item for me.
Unless you need it same-day, this was very easy.

Go to the $299 battery bundle link post up there, click on select free tool, then the impact wrench will be near the bottom of the list. Select wrench, add both to cart. Ship both to home, then return the battery bundle in store. The wrench should come out to be $126.
