The $20 digital member bonus card is a single-use promotional card. Digital member bonus cards are valid 7/8/2022 - 7/18/2022. Terms and conditions apply

Also in checkout it does not validate the additional $20.

Thanks, had some REI Rewards money to spend. Ordered a Fjallraven Expedition Pack Down Hoodie discounted from $275 to $165.

The gift certificate should work on the REI Used store as well. I've ordered some items in "Excellent" condition that were like new. Downside is returns have to be shipped back and the cost isn't covered.

Rei is a good store for outdoor gear. It has generous return policy (1 year return) for member and excellent customer service. Their outlet items might be a good option if you hesitate to pay a regular price. I will just buy the gift card for future use. For the bonus card, I will use it when it goes active in case It expires. If I am not satisfied with the bonus card purchase, I will return and get another gc with no expiration date.

Nope, they are independent of each other. For example, you could be buying the $100 card for your Dad, the $20 bonus goes into your account.
