They are referring to how Cricut tried in the last year or so to require a monthly subscription if you wanted to use your own files to print, as well as if you didn't want a limitation on how many prints you can do a month. They ended up backtracking, but only because of the backlash from the community and negative PR. I'm of the understanding that Cricut has to be online, so you couldn't just unplug it from the internet and continue using it without their subscription.

I'm not sure if the competitor, Silhouette Cameo, ever has sales like Cricut... But I think people might be leaning towards them after what Cricut tried doing

Cricut is DRM bullshit. Go with a silhouette or some other "real" vinyl cutter.

Not trying to be a jerk, but you will probably have to Google this and watch some YouTube videos. I did two quick searches, and I am seeing video results for both the cricut joy (this machine) and the silhouette for making die cut stickers. As for which would work better and the specific ins and outs... That's something you also would want to try to find a comparison video of

Edit: try googling something like cricut vs silhouette die cut stickers. Also, you'll probably quickly find out that there's quite a rabbit hole of info out there on things you can do with the cricut machines, and which ones can or can't do this or that. I myself only just learned in the past week that they sell something for coffee mugs too
I actually have and you are correct there is a BIG rabbit hole regarding what they can each do, hence my question.

I was hoping someone(s) who had experience in that use specifically and ideally using both give their impression on pros and cons of each.

If you have seen a video of that specific comparisons please let me know where, if not thanks for your consideration.

Depends on what niche you want to go into and what you wanted to make. The wedding niche is a saturated one.
It's been that way for the past couple years. Every stay at home mom trying to make a side hustle by putting stuff on Yeti cups etc. Go to a craft fair and it's kinda sad seeing these people trying to sell a product one can make at home.

Bought my wife the cricut explore air 2 for Christmas. She loved it. A few months later I bought her the joy. She does not have a dedicated craft space due to space constraints and I tell you. I've seen her do some pretty great projects with the joy. Some days it's just easier to unpack the joy rather then lug out the explore. It's very capable.

One thing I'd recommend is to buy the pen adapter so you can use the explore pens inside the joy. I know cards can be done on both machines. But I've been most impressed with the cards she makes. She usually does that on the joy. Pulling the trigger on this deal for my sisters birthday.

Very true.. I've been selling on Etsy for over 10 years. If you pick the right niche(s) you're golden.

No you do not, you only need Cricut Access if you want access to designs published by Cricut. My wife has this machine and loves it. She imports most of her designs from Google Image searches and cuts them out herself!

Very strange comment, imo. You do realize a lot of the things we buy could be made from home? In fact before industrialization we made many more things from home. That's like saying it's sad seeing these people at the farmers market or grocery store trying to push their tomatoes that people can just grow from home…..yet most people don't!
