Are they allowed to market it as gsync with out module? I doubt that.

I think the best size for HD is something like 25"

People who play FPS competitively prefer this size because you don't have to move your head to see what's on the screen. 27 is still a good size but I'd prefer 1440 if I were going 27.

For those who aren't as familiar with specs - at 27", from a graphics perspective, you should be looking for 1440p instead of 1080p. This monitor, with 240hz refresh rate and G-sync (if you have a Nvidia graphics card) is purely about refresh rate, which is for games where you need to react quickly.
In other words, if you're playing competitive games like CounterStrike, Overwatch, etc. this may be up your alley. If you're looking for something that makes your games look nice, something with 1440p is a better choice than 1080.
I currently have a 1080p monitor with 120hz refresh rate and enjoy it. The upgrade to 27" is good for me, but I'm not willing to pay for 240hz refresh rate…it's not worth anything to me personally. The specs I'm looking for are 27", 120hz, 1440p, 1ms response. G-sync is a bonus but not needed. I think a FP Slickdeal for that would be around $250.
Just giving you a perspective on what I look for in a monitor. Smilie

Good looks. I'm in the market for suitable monitors for my first PC build with an NVIDIA 3080 gpu. I'm looking for pretty much the same specs as you but can't seem to find anything under $300. Thanks for the post though! Biggrin2

Micro Center has several WQHD 27"-32" monitors for under $300. I recently bought an Acer Nitro 27" curved 165 Hz for I think $230. Response time is 4ms but I guarantee if you sit someone in front of a 4ms and a 1ms with otherwise identical specs, they wouldn't know the difference.
