I have a desktop computer and velcroed it under my desk. It looks similar to this one where you have to attach the hub upside down to access the power switches. You just have to remember to attach the USB cords upside down.
THE GOOD. Even though I didn't see it in the description, mine do have a power jack next to the USB cable. Hubs did not come with power adaptors, but I already had some from the USB 2.0 hubs I was replacing.
THE BAD. Lately Windows 10 on my computers sporadically stopped recognizing these hubs. I am not sure if the issue is with the driver or the hardware/firmware in the hub. It usually starts working again after reboot, and one of them worked on the laptop I tested it on. Still, this happened independently to two hubs connected to two separate desktops.
Power switches on a USB hub are convenient for additional privacy, because you can power on and off your webcam and microphone at will, but in this case, based on my experience, I suggest looking elsewhere.

I have my webcam and microphone plugged into it for video and conference calls.
I like having a physical button and a blue light to confirm if the webcam or microphone are on or off. I can physically turn them off and on, and have a visual confirmation with the blue light that it is on or off.

What's a good powered hub?
Thanks!
