I have the $300 per year plan with 8GB data and I've been on the phone with customer service. They wont change my data to 16GB. I was on the phone with them 35min to argue. I asked for a supervisor and they hung up. I'm not giving up though.

So the deal is 8gb + 8gb bonus for "double data" not 16gb. Which is kinda BS the way its worded but o well. But if you dashboard for your prepaid has two data bars (where ===== are):

Discount Reward Offer: 8GB Data
=============================================
7.7 GB of 8 GB Remaining
Expires on Sep 7, 2022

Plan Data (includes 0 KB Rollover Data℠)
=============================================
8 GB of 8 GB Remaining

Then you have the "16gb plan" (which is actually an 8gb plan + 8gb bonus per month). You can roll over only a max of 8gb not 16gb per month as rollover is only what is on the base plan. Bonus data is used first then plan data second.

after talking to AT&T for fivew times at last one customer rep did something. Now my account look like ,this. It doesn't say Promo offer of 8 Gig, Just says "8GB (No Rollover)". I am not sure if the data will be added next month for anotehr 8 GB

Data
See Plan Details for more information

8GB (No Rollover)
7.8 GB of 8 GB RemainingExpires on Sep 10, 2022

Plan Data (includes 0 KB Rollover Data℠)
7.5 GB of 8 GB Remaining

I was not able to port my current postpaid AT&T number to the new created prepaid At&T temporary account. Called 888-898-7685, they told me they can only port numbers from other vendors to At&t prepaid account. So I have to port out then port back?

My Experience:

Currently on ATT 8gb plan expiring next week

Ported to MetroPCS for their $100 Iphone 11 deal. What a disaster at the store. But they only charged me for activation and gave me the phone for free lol.

Was planning on using that Metro phone on my current unlocked 13 for a month since I had already paid for a month unlimited plan before switching back over but couldn't figure that out smoothly since there was something about not being able to switch your SIM on Metro in the first month so just went ahead and switched back to AT&T same day.

Bought a SIM card from Target. Popped it in my phone and activated via the text message given and set up My Pay Go account. Filled in Target prepaid cards.

Called 888-898-7685 to port over with Metro Info. Was on phone for less than 15 minutes. Had some issue with Metro approving so had to call back in an hour and worked out.

All told cost $80 to port out then port back in and left with an Iphone 11.

it's been mentioned countless times that you will need an intermediary port to get back into att prepaid from att postpaid

I have activated the service on my Physical SIM Card.

Now how do I convert my line from Physical SIM to e-Sim card.
Went to couple of AT&T shops and they are not helping saying the process is complicated.

Any idea or any step by step process to convert to e-Sim ?

I am going to travel internationally, so would like to have this line transferred to an eSim and then buy another SIM when I reach my destination.

Thanks for the quick reply. will try.

In my mind this process should be online or thru phone and should not have to visit a store. All they require is an IMEI of the e-Sim. Not sure why the process is so complicated.

in your mind there is a lot of things that should be more straight forward

there is no convert to esim with att prepaid directly

you always need a new physical esim

except when you first activate line that could be directly done on phone with iphone

Does anyone have any idea why some people report that their CC is charged as soon as they insert the sim/turn on phone and other people say that you have to set up profile and then choose payment method?

I read the wiki but it doesnt address this. I dont have CC with couple bucks on it to use when ordering this. Want to make sure my card wont get charged so i can pay with gift cards

I am interested in getting a line that is solely for hotspot. I will use it to connect my company laptop to company vpn for Team meetings when I am away from home.

Will this work? Thanks.
