Swingline has the Infinity ClassicCut CL420 18-inch Guillotine Paper Trimmer [swingline.com] on sale for $26.21, which is 93% off their MSRP of $396.00. Value shipping is flat-rate $5, but I was also offered 3-day express for $5 (YMMV).

The same model is also available for the same price on Walmart.com [walmart.com] through seller ACCO Brands Direct, and on Ebay through seller accobrand. (ACCO owns Swingline and several other brands [accobrands.com].) Shipping is free on Walmart and Ebay, but the shipping times are longer.

Product Features:
Swingline sets the standard in stylish office supplies with the new Infinity ClassicCut Acrylic trimmer. Guillotine style trimmer is crystal clear in color, resembling glass, and has a red laser light to illuminate the cutting line.
  • Clear, acrylic trimmer base provides a cutting surface that is both durable and fashionable while guillotine blade makes paper trimming quick and easy
  • Battery powered laser illuminates the cutting line for clear, exact trims
  • Inch and centimeter marks and paper size guides are printed on the base to help line up paper

I mean they can say whatever price they want for MSRP. It's nothing more than a recommendation from the manufacturer. Sure it's probably nicer than any guillotine cutter you can get for $29 on Amazon. It's simply not worth $400 though. Not even on it's best day.

Urrghh!! Of all the times to miss a deal! This was on my wish list! The precision and laser guide make it one the best trimmers around.

I am so sorry you missed it. This place has it for $80 and free shipping. I know it's not the same deal, but it's something.

Mine just arrived today. I agree that $400 is inflated, but less than I originally thought. The bed is 1/2-inch thick acrylic. If it was polycarbonate, it would be straight-up bulletproof. Blade cuts like butter and the hold-down clamp is square , stable, and makes a tight hold.
The laser is going to need some fine-tuning before I can tell if it's worth a darn, and the adjustable back-stop is a joke. Otherwise, this thing is pretty impressive. I'd say $150 MSRP would be fair, so it was a slammin' deal either way.
