I prefer this one with multiple battery options, rechargeable battery and then regular batteries as well.

You missed the concept. The other linked light comes with a removable 18650 that can be charged by way of the lantern while in the lantern but will also take 3 standard AA batteries. You can use the replaceable rechargeable and if not near power can swap to standard batteries if need be. Even better is to buy a few more rechargeable 18650 and get off the battery buying bandwagon, you can even use the lantern to charge the 18650s for itself or other lights and gear that may take one. One 18650 is more compact and easily carried than three AAs and the 18650s have more power and are longer lasting. I bought the set for just that reason to get away from some lanterns that use D cells.

Think that set the better deal and think you should give it a post of it's own. Removable yet onboard charging and the ability to also use regular batteries is well worth the few bucks more in my book. The four 18650 that come with them would cost about $20 by themselves. Thank for pointing the set out.

He is saying that you would not be able to charge when away from power but the point is moot as you could just as well swap out an already charged 18650, standard AA or rechargeable AA

I preferred non-rechargeable since the batteries will be removed and stored away only needed in case of emergency. With batteries installed it will have corrosion if not used for a long time. Haven't had power outage for more than 5 minutes in the past and most of the power outages happened during the day

I would choose hybrid except if you check ccc or keepa, Amazon has jacked up pre coupon price of hybrid recently.

I think hybrid was posted before but I passed on it them for same reason.

Think I will keep waiting as long as they are pushing coupons every couple of days.

Your argument just makes no sense. Why would you prefer batteries that must be kept out of the device you plan to use in case of emergency and ones that cause corrosion if left in? I have never had a lithium rechargeable have corrosion problems even when left in devices for years and why not have it ready to go when needed. You will a have a hard time finding the batteries and installing them in the dark

I was reading some reviews of the lanterns in the posted deal and di see mention that they will not work with NIMH rechargeable AA but will work with AAA in adapter. Have no idea about what that is all about but if you plan on using the lights with rechargeable you might want to reconsider. The same may be true for the other linked set that has that has the rechargeable but also takes AAs
