Totally true. I own both 12 and 20v. If I'm using it all day and can get away with using 12v, I'm going to use 12v.

If y'all haven't used modern 12v tools, give them a try. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised.

Stock shows 10+, but stuff can't find any in the store. Lowes stock # is not reliable. Better to stay at home not to waste money at Fuel
Brickseek showed some in my store, but I couldn't find any on the shelves, so decided to ask floor manager. He entered the code into the hand-held scanner, then took the ladder and climbed all the way up to the top shelf near the tools section. And that's where there was a whole bunch of them. I guess these 12V are not a very common item, so they typically are kept in a stack rather than on the shelf.

RikBReally, you like those? I have 2 and they are absolute trash. Great if you're a DIYer I guess but unless you like swapping batteries off the charger all day long they don't work for any sort of real work. I just use them in the flashlight now :/
.
Yea, they are going to have to up the amperage on the PowerStack before I have any use for them. Nobody ever needed a fast release 1.7 amp battery at the inflated price.

...smaller, lighter AND more power.

12v battery powered has it's limitations with watt hours out. What it is, is another source of income for more sales. For many, we already have too many different battery systems.

20v is steadily becoming smaller and a better option for power vs size.

I looked at the DeWalt 12v and considered for light duty such as cabinet hardware. But, if I am going to carry another battery line besides the DeWalt 20v and Flexvolt, it will be the Milwaukee M12 line.

DeWalt is fine and we have four trucks full of them with a lot of batteries, but and although they typically cost more, I have to admit that a comparable Milwaukee is a better built tool. The other option would be Makita that we used prior. Since we have a DeWalt service center down the street with a rep that passes out demos and deals, DeWalt it was.

They have sales on their 12v tools right now as well. I have some older 18v Dewalts, Just about every 18v Ryobi tool, some Craftsman 18v, a bunch of the 24v Kobalt stuff and the set I use by far the most is my 12v Bosch set I found at a goodwill for $10. Having a smaller sweet like this is so much nicer than using the bigger tools all day. Sometimes you need the extra oomph, and the bigger tools are better. But for 99% off homeowners 12v tools, quality ones that is, are perfect.

Reading is fundamental. I thought this was for 20v when I first read it. LOL

Good deal if you need Dewalt 12v however.

There must be more SDers in my area because all of these deals are OOS lately at the two Lowes near me.

These days, the only Lowes showing stock within an hour drive are located in the hood. I am all for saving a buck but not risking my life to do so. LOL
Where's the 'hood'? It's Lowe's, not Bubba's Backyard Biker Bash. You want to see a hood, come to Kensington in Philly...

That was funny. I haven't been in philly in 20 years, but I'm sure all the bad areas didn't get any better. I drive through it and around it from time to time, but I don't normally stop anymore.

Read about the shootout on south street. Used to be a pretty safe place to go with tons of cops down there, has that changed? I talked to some people that said they had some problems the last time they went to Penns Landing, is that bad too now?

South Streets been trash for 20 years. Penn's Landings pretty safe. Downtown's like any major city. Homeless encampments on millionaire condo complexes. Kensington is on a different level though.

Man you missed a crazy good deal back in November of last year. Baretool with free 3ah battery for $50. I was able to fill out my starter kit with that deal and have plenty of batteries.
I remember that one and it was very YMMV - especially my local Lowe's store where they don't tend to reduce prices as much. For the 3Ah deal, I was not able to order any of the tools I was interested in online regardless of which zip code I used near here.

For this particular deal, the local store is showing a price of $120+ compared to few other stores 40+ miles away that are showing in the $50-$60 range.
