They reviewed a lower end model. I would suggest you to check the Matthew Moniz YouTube review of this laptop who covered it in very high degree of details:

The Display actually goes brighter than 300 nits, around 330-340 nits.
During normal operation, this laptop is very silent with the fans hardly spinning.
In Short term workloads, it is very powerful, almost beating the 2021 XPS 15 with i7-11800H and 45W RTX 3050 Ti, due to efficiency of the Ryzen Processors.
Acer has released a Firmware Upgrade which enabled the CPU to consume around 35 to 37W sustained power during CPU only workload. Previously it was only 25 to 28 Watt.
Despite having powerful hardware and a small battery, the battery life is actually amazing, 8 Hrs+ with normal usage.

Not sure what you're trying to say here. Slow response time affects only when you're playing games in the laptop. Not sure how playing a video or watching a steam where the frames are not getting rendered, going to get affected by slow response time.
Apart from OLED panels, all the non gaming laptops with IPS panel, have very slow response time, including the highest end ones, like Dell XPS 15. Never heard people saying they are affected by slower response time when watching video.

You can actually also enable Freesync on this as well using CustomResolutionUtility. It has a second NVME slot inside as well for upgrades.

Bought this 6 months back for $800. Great machine. Good mix of portability, productivity and perfect for medium level gaming on the go.

I can leave my chonk gaming laptop home most of the time and barely miss it.

A couple months ago I picked up a Thinkbook 13S Gen2 ARE* for $600 but I think for me this is worth the $300 upgrade. If I don't like it within 30 days I can ship it back at my cost.

(*R7 4800U, 16GB DDR4-4400, 512GB Samsung PM991, 13.3" 2560x1600, Harman audio, backlit keyboard, etc)

It means that Type-C Port can output up to 15W to an external device like Phone and it can take up to 90W from a PD Charger.

have this laptop, i quite like it. I know i'm definitely losing some battery running a linux distro, but oh well. The fingerprint sensor this uses doesn't have support by linux distros yet.

My biggest gripe with this (and i've seen this on other Swift laptops) is that the proprietary power cable has a very finicky connection

It means up to 15w output to another device. You can charge it with any 20v PD charger up to 100w. I hardly ever use the barrel charger it came with.

Well, it has a single Type-C Port. So, connecting two monitors are not going to be two cable solution. You need to find a Dock or Hub which has DisplayPort Multi-Stream Protocol (MST) that can take one DP 1.4 and divide it to two DP 1.2 or HDMI 2.0 or DP 1.2 + HDMI 2.0.
