Only need it for the initial 30 you already pay for when you buy it. Don't need 60

TW like to play games with their promos, releasing a handful of devices in the wee hours every day or two. It's so lame. Reminds me of stupid BF or Prime Day tactics to keep people hooked.

No. That was their old policy prior to this year. Their CS reps are pretty infamous for being clueless. You'll get different answers from many of them. The unlock dept reps are a little better, but it still can take a couple of calls if you have to call. Luckily, it seems like the auto unlock after 60 days works for most.

Below is their unlocking policy, taken directly from their website.

"For Customers with Apple devices: Total Wireless will automatically unlock the device when it becomes eligible for unlocking. For all Apple devices activated with Total Wireless prior to November 23, 2021, the device will be automatically unlocked after twelve (12) months of active Total Wireless Service. For Apple devices activated with new Total Wireless Service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the device will be automatically unlocked sixty (60) days after activation in the absence of an indication of fraud."
