They removed the backup at original quality (except for the OG 2016 Pixels). Backup at storage saver (compressed quality) is available for life for the Pixel 2 - 5, but not for any newer Pixels after that.

I got the pixel 5 on similar deal a month back. Happy with it. I mentioned in other thread but yeah this isn't really a "deal" but I would consider it fair. The value in these is that they are still new and sealed in box. Not refurb, used, open box, etc. The battery on my P5 is in great shape. At the end of the day I'm around 60-70% juice left with like 2-3 hours screen time and using always on display.

My plan is to ride this phone out for 3-4 years while Google works things out with their new line of in house chips and hopefully comes out with smaller form factors again.

I like having a cheap backup phone laying around and the 4a looks decent. I grabbed the Pixel 2 XL for $150.00 and didn't like it and just picked up a Moto One Ace 5G. The Ace is pretty good but it's ginormous. How's the 4a's real world battery life and is the speakerphone any good?????
What's not to like with the 2 XL?

Pixel 4a 5g Battery life is good i get about 8-9 hours when i am at work which requires daily online reporting with @ 150 pictures (retail representative). This is the best phone i have used in last 5 years. Its stock android so no bloatware like the samsungs and motos. Speaker (dual) is fairly loud with not a lot of distortion at higher volume, also has headphone jack for wired earbuds. The only thing missing is wireless charging. I prefer to use this over S21 Ultra.

Pixel 4 was my favorite phone of all time...might get it if it's indeed new
I'm still on the Pixel (orginal gen 1 prior to the ) and they both have been bullet proof. Got the 3 submerged in water when tossed from my ww kayak and it suffered no damage. Love they are bloat free and the cameras are at/near the top.

5a has bigger battery, larger display and headphone jack over the 5, but doesn't have the wireless charging, 90hz screen or the photo backup that the 5 does. So it's a toss up as to what's important

I didn't like the blue tint of the screen and the speaker had a really irritating rattle. I knew these problems existed with the Pixel 2XL but was hoping to get a good one. Sold it for what I paid for it so all goodSmilie One thing I will say is that the Panda version is Google's best looking phone to date.

I think they canceled that
Yeah pretty crappy they did when they said life of the device and many chose their device because of that.

Pixel phones are awesome for longevity but I wouldn't recommend a 4 series they reach end of life later this year .

There are perks with these phones.

Google offers storage for free on Pixel 3a, Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, and Pixel 5. The offer is active for the life of the device.
If you want this perk I'd buy an OG Pixel. Ebay for around $80.

There are millions of phones in use that haven't been updated in years. I almost think it's a scam to sell more phones but I've never researched how many people have had their bank accounts drained from using a non-updated phone.

I have two 4a and they fcking suck. Baterry life is short and the overheat and will shutdown when recording video with front cameras. Replace twice and each phone was the same.

Without the same camera, I'd rather get the Pixel 6 on sale over the 6a. In the past, the biggest reason to get the "a" pixel variants was that they had the same camera as their higher end siblings. Too bad Google didn't continue that tradition.
the camera on it is still amazing relative to other cell phone cameras.
