Yes, we have used it right on top of wet grass, etc. It shakes off easily too. The top is soft and fleecy and the bottom waterproof layer is smooth and sturdier. Grass and sand shakes off easily. If you spill something on the fleece side, it kinda beads up before soaking in, so easy to keep clean if you ate quick, even though not totally waterproof.

I have had one of these for 20 years and it is still going strong. So useful.

On the plus side it is "foldable"
A foldable blanket? Get out of here with that crazy nonsense.

I got one a month ago, it was priced as above in store. Quality wise I'd say it is pretty good. The commenter above described it pretty well. I second that. Design is something you have to live for but hey YOLO!

I'm absolutely positive whatever you bought in 2002 isn't the same product or brand from Walmart.

So how is that a relevant comment to help this thread in 2022? We'd like recent feedback on items please.

I'm not trying to hate, but come on now.

Is this blanket warm? Not looking to use it in 39 degree weather, but would it keep a person reasonably warm in say 50 or 60 degrees?

How does this compare with the Pendleton one at Costco? Is the Costco one worth the extra $$$?

While I don't own this product the thickness on product page is 0.12" (3.048mm). The item may be able to break the wind a bit but I don't see just over 3 mm to offer much warmth on a cool day. The product is more intended as a buffer between you and the ground.

It's double the thickness compared to the Pendleton at Costco, so while it's not quite packable like a large envelope (it's folds to the size of a seat cushion), it's warmer and more comfortable to sit on while the Pendleton is good for keeping yourself clean from sand/dirt.
