Yeah I am likely going to do the same. Plus I think on 7/12 the prime visa card is 6% cashback.

It shows same thing for me, too. I got too excited and already bought $50 Amazon GC with the code. I went ahead and took a screenshot of my checkout page with the "code applied" message with another $50 Amazon GC, just in case if I need to contact CS about not getting the credit.

Added $50 Amazon eGC to cart using a laptop (emailing to myself) -- applied code "EGCPRIME22" during checkout and it shows:

Qualifying offers
Congratulations on your gift card purchase. Your first Prime Day gift card purchase qualifies you for an Amazon.com credit. A $12.50 promotional credit will be automatically applied to your account and emailed to you within two (2) days after order completion. Offer has a limit of one promotional credit per Amazon.com Prime account.

The promo is attached to your account alrdy so you can't apply/save it again (only have to do it once) -- if you use a desktop/laptop then you'll see the promo message during checkout

So you bought $100 GCs already? I bought $50, but then realized that this could be a potential glitch, so will buy 2x $50 gcs from our two accounts at midnight just to be safe.

No, I only bought one $50 GC with the code. When I added 2nd $50 in my shopping cart, I saw the "promo applied" message was still there although I did not enter any promo code. I did the mock checkout only because I wanted to take the screen shot of the "promo applied" message. I did not buy the 2nd $50 GC.

That's good. I did the same. Going to just buy another one at midnight instead of fighting with Amazon CS if I don't get the credit later.

If we don't get the GC credit and complain about it, they will most likely just apply a $12.5 credit manually to our accounts, but too many of these credits and returns can get you banned, so no point in asking for one if you can just place another GC order at midnight.
