A traditional New England chowder with rich clam stock that's infused with potatoes and clams.
No artificial flavors, low in fat and cholesterol.
Also available in single cans for $1 at Walmart[walmart.com], but may be YMMV.

The worst clam chowder you will ever have. Try any brand other than this one. It has no clams in it and what passes for clams is like 'mystery meat'. It doesn't even taste like they tried to put synthetic clam flavoring or juice or anything. Its like potatos and mystery meat in glop
In defense of this soup, I don't think it's nearly as bad as people here say. It does taste like clams, the first ingredient is clam stock. No, it doesn't have a lot of clam pieces, and yes, it does have a lot of potatoes, but for a simple chowder it's fine. I usually add some fresh black pepper and sometimes a can of mushrooms. To me, it's definitely worth a buck a can as a pantry item.
So i should spend $90 on 8 pouches of clam chowder that must be frozen? Or $12 on 12 cans of decent soup that stores forever in my pantry. I came for apples, not oranges…. I do appreciate the insight into what may be a fabulous soup, but do you have any viable recommendations that are not crazy expensive/must take up freezer space?

Any recommendations? I was really craving chili last time and I asked for recommendations. I ended up making a nice pot of delicious canned chili and I enhanced it with avocado and bacon

If you're a Costco member, call and ask if they have Splash Cafe Clam Chowder. Really good stuff and I looove clam chowder. Only really decent store bought/prepackaged clam chowder I have found. It's available at my local Costco, I live in Northern California.

It's available only at a few Costco locations but it can be bought online nationwide at gold belly. Not sure what the pricing is like for Costco vs gold belly

The only issue I have with this clam chowder is how thin it is when you add the cam of milk. I use less than a can of milk. It's not the worst clam chowder as some people make it out to be. And in all honesty, I prefer Manhattan style clam chowder
