8GB RAM is more than enough for any non-professional. The MacBook Air is designed for portability and those professionals looking for more memory may want to look at other options in the MacBook lineup.

'Low RAM' is a completely made-up problem for a laptop in this category. 8GB RAM is more than enough for any non-professional.
Max Tech did an in-depth comparison of the M1 MacBook Air with 8GB and 16GB of RAM www.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dh487I_5xOZU [youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dh487I_5xOZU]. There was little to no difference until he started maxing out the machine with Pro apps, and even then the difference wasn't significant.
How can a laptop that easily edits 4K video get bogged down by a simple browser?! Unless, of course, the browser was badly coded. Chrome is an inefficient resource hog and will bog down any machine. If you use Chrome, you should already know this. Try using a better browser before blaming the laptop.

Apple scales it down, gives you the ability to go up a little, but never near the full potential. Not sure why they do this. Give us the option
