I bought this earlier in the year for the same price. It's fun and cool to tinker, but something was always off/broken/needed upgrading/etc.

The plate was very hard to level completely. Mine had a high spot. Glass bed was only slightly better. The z axis sags. You can upgrade to dual z motor. The firmware doesn't support pausing (to change colors or add magnets), you can update it (which isn't hard but not simple).

I ended up buying a anycubic vyper which is very similar to this printer but with all of the upgrades on it already ($300). I'm going to just sell my ender and I'm guessing I can get my $100 back on FB.

It's not a bad printer, but it'll never really be plug and play. After every few prints, something will end up needing calibration and it's a lot of time trying to figure out what/why/how

Your link doesn't show any stock level. It just shows where the product is located in any given store. How do we check exact quantity on hand.
You need to select your store in the drop down at the top and then it should show the number in stock at that particular store.

Best entry to 3D printing printer. I've printed over 100 prints near flawlessly with no upgrades at all. Learn to print before adding in all the fancy bells and whistles.
Honestly I second this but even more than entry level. Definitely the best for someone who doesn't print often and doesn't care for all the bells and whistles

Please be warned!!! Creality was already in the process of cheaping out on this well-established entry-level printer and now that extends to the power supply. These used to ship with a Meanwell power supply, a well-known and reliable brand. They now ship with a generic, provably lower-quality power supply as discussed in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzkdwaW1a88

It's a shame. I got one of these for $100 last August, put about $70 worth of upgrades onto it, and absolutely love it for the price. However, you are entrusting this machine to supply a constant, high supply of power for hours, sometimes even days, while your print jobs run and you keep the hotend heated to 200C or higher. If it were me, I would at least swap the PSU to a Meanwell...but then it no longer becomes a fantastic deal. No judgment if you do decide to go for this model, but you might want to keep some kind of monitoring or fail-safe on it. It's very shady of Creality to do this to an extremely popular product.

I find most people try to spend / upgrade their way past the learning curve. Not realizing that during the upgrade process THEY get better, not so much the printer.

Awesome deal. Got one back in January. The store south of Irvine, CA had tons on a pallet and the workers said they had more. One word of advice: Print up your email showing your authorization code. They weren't super helpful and said I had to have it. Turned out mine was sent to me in a text and after I finally figured it out they said oh yeah, that happens sometimes too.

I bought this as my first 3D printer last time it was posted at this price. Its a great printer to learn with and has very good quality prints (great quality for the price). The only thing I felt the need to upgrade and that more expensive printers already have is a CRTOUCH and matching firmware update so I could use auto-bed leveling. These magnetic plates tend to have warped spots and no amount of manual bed leveling can account for that. The CRTOUCH allows the firmware to know about these spots and raise/lower the print head as needed which makes it so much easier to start your prints. I think you could switch to a glass plate to address the warping and a bit cheaper option but I really like flexing the plate to pop off the prints. $99 for printer and $40 for CRTOUCH is a hard to beat combo and price.

Glad people love theirs. I personally hated it. The learning curve was too steep, bed leveling never got quite right, and my prints generally shit the bed halfway through.

I really wanted to like it but I just don't think I have the time or patience for the learning curve and then the need for upgrades and everything else. These are not yet ready to be plug and play. My local library prints at $0.10 per gram and for me it's a better solution. No work on my part and it's just done.

I'd like to add that the only upgrade you really need is the extruder (the part with a gear that pushes the filament through the nozzle). It's very common for them to break early on, so it's best to print a replacement as on of your first prints, or purchase a BMG clone. A BMG clone can be had for $10-$15 on Amazon and it's a huge upgrade. It gives much more consistent extrusion than the stock one, since it has dual gears instead of just one. All the other upgrades are just quality of life upgrades. An automatic bed leveling sensor can be had for just a couple bucks from AliExpress, and is a huge quality of life upgrade, but I recommend getting manual bed leveling down first, as the bed still needs to be leveled, and it takes a bit of patience to learn how to get it just right.
