Can a culinary expert tell my why this brand offers big bottles of spices for the same price as the other brands with tiny containers? My local groceries store keeps them in separate aisle too.

30+ years cooking here...it's not a good product, in fact, no "Garlic Salt" is a good product. If you really need Garlic and Salt in a recipe, just use Garlic and Salt...done.

Garlic powder and granulated approach the flavor of sawdust. I do have garlic salt in the cupboard for a dusting on breadsticks or pizza crust but ya, not great. Easy enough to make with 50/50 granulated/table salt.

Truth spoken here. Garlic salt is a waste of money and cabinet space.

To answer somebody else's question about why this is cheaper - bulk. I'm certain that the spice merchant i go to has garlic salt by the pound for close to what you can get it for in a jar at the supermarket. I'd bet it's fresher and tastier too.
