DIDN'T need it & ordered ANYWAY.
Unless those who are living in an area that has a lot of hurricanes, thunderstorms
or power outage, Higher surge protection may be necessary.
In general, the power from the pole is pretty stable on its electricity current
Nonetheless, there is already some protection in the house with the circuit breaker.
even modern electric products have some sort of protection
such as the adapter we use for some products.
Although, it will break your adapter
and it may lead to additional costs to replace one if your warranty is out.
So, unless those who were having products that are expensive, it will be okay for having a little protection, or maybe without it.
(Such as nice gaming desktops and computers. etc that may cost a lot
If you have kitchen appliances like easily goes over $1000 with all the fancy feature, you would definately go with the surge protection on it )
However, if you are living in a house that has old wires, which can cause some unstable electricity or an area that has lots of hurricanes that may cause trouble with electricity, I am gonna say buy the surge protection with higher joule ratings, at ~400V
also, if you buy one with the surge + overload protection, it will make your house safer.
If you are going to use it for those with the motors, or easily overload the electric current, will be safe to choose which marks as "for Heavy Duty" "Overload Protection" "Surge protection that over 2000Joule"
