It should never come in the house. They did not level it properly
No issues here, but I did tilt my units outward and down a bit more than the manual says (I think the manual says a quarter bubble on the level).
I have one of each size of these (8k, 10k, 12k) and I really like them. Very very quiet, plus the smart features are a nice perk (paired easily, smart app that works, nice to be able to turn it on remotely on the way home) - overall a huge upgrade over a basic loud window unit.

These are great prices IMO, especially for summer. Thanks OP

Have you had any issues with the condensation draining. The reviews I've seen on these seem to say the condensation has no where to drain so it sits in the pan and some have had it come in the house.

Are the smaller ones quieter? I'm confused by how loud I think my 12k is while reviews rave they can't tell it's in

I don't notice a big difference in sound level between the 3 sizes. I think all the units are very quiet. I leave mine in Auto mode and Eco mode on, and of course you can tell that it's on when very close to it - but mainly all I can hear is the fan noise (which varies quite a bit as it ramps up and down automatically). If the fan is ramped up, I can usually barely hear the compressor ramping up and down.

I can't comment on that. It's just what some said in reviews. To be fair they may not have even been this brand. I just remember it was this style. I've been looking at them for a while and read bunches of reviews so they are all blending together now.
I understand. There is a large "pan" in the bottom back part of basically all window/wall ACs because of condensation. For me it usually evaporates before it overflows. But if it does overflow, it flows outside in the back because the AC should always be slightly tilted towards the outside and not towards the house.

If the AC is tilted the wrong way, you can either adjust it or attach a vinyl hose to direct the condensated water wherever you want

Difficult question to answer but how much savings would you think you're getting out of this vs running central air in a standard sized home?

Do you run all of them at once?

Link for the 8k is not U-shaped. Also, $17 for shipping if you don't have Plus

I won't be much too help there - I run all 3 in a 2 bedroom duplex (12k in large main room, the other two units in each bedroom). The packaging on these units says "up to 35% more efficient" or something similar. They have a CEER rating of 15.0, which I understand is pretty efficient. Unfortunately this can't be compared exactly apples to apples with SEER (which I think most central A/C's have published rates for that). I certainly wouldn't stop entirely using a functioning central A/C system to swap for all window units. One of these units might be good for hot upstairs rooms or less-used rooms, and then you could turn your central A/C thermostat down a few degrees, saving you some money.

I've owned the 8k,10k, and 12k. It seems like fan noise goes up with BTU rating. If you use the app you can manually tune the fan to whatever speed you want. It may also be a firmware issue, but I have been unable to update the firmware on my 10k and 12k units on Android. It seems like IOS users have been able to update the firmware.

I saw this complaint from a competitor that built an upside down u model. I haven't really seen that complaint with this U shaped that I can remember.
I have the 10K and the only complaint I have is a ticking noise that the company said isn't normal and told me to just return it since it was only a few days old at that point.
