Not from what I've seen. I have both for a few years and both seem pretty much identical in both build quality, fit, and all other metrics. So much so that I just grab whichever one is on top and don't even notice other than the colors are different.

They've been clearing out a lot of their REI branded chairs recently, picked up 2 of the lawn chairs.
A good camping chair, If you're looking for mesh for ventilation in the heat, and a low chair that can be used for concerts and venues, is the Kelty Mesh Lowdown Chair - https://www.sunnysports.com/p-klt...2019-model.
Comes with a roll tote bag that can be used as a foot spot to kick your shoes off, and is so much easier to put away than a traditional camping chair sack.
Our kids use them for Scout camping trips, and we use them for family camping, smaller packed size vs the traditional higher camping chair, so less packing space needed.
These are all nice chairs and if I was looking for a regular camp chair, I'd probably get one of these. But, if you're considering the GCI Rocker, you know that it's nothing like any of these and really can't be compared.
I actually came into this thread hoping for a deal on the GCI Rocker... Leaving a little disappointed.

is this $25 Camp X chair noticeable better than the $10 Ozark Trail chair from Walmart? worth spending an extra $15?

I have several GCI chairs and have used tons of different REI chairs (and own several of those too) and they're comparable quality. The rocking feature found in some of the GCI chairs, though, is pretty dope and not found in any REI chairs. Of the rockers currently listed on REI.com I like the original Freestyle Rocker the best.
How are REI quality vs Coleman? I just bought Ozark Trail chairs couple years ago and definitely not comparable to 15+ year old Coleman. The Colemans are getting old and looking for another quality replacement.
