Excellent deal.
This is a bunch of stuff you will end up buying anyway.
I love playing Zenith, Robo Recall, Contractor's,
And the games from that website for VR with name ending in HUB.

you can play VR games from other platforms so long as you connect thre OCULUS to a gaming PC through a USBC connection

by itself it can only play games from the oculus store

content in Oculus store is mostly garbage, like cellphone games from 10 years ago

I only use Steam to play Alyx which is without a doubt the best VR game there is. I have not got into the Alyx mods but it seems there is some promising work there.

What I do it add games on the Oculus store to my wishlist and wait for them to go on sale.

The best game in my opinion is Galaxies edge with the add ons. And the Vader games. The Room is a good game. Walkabout mini golf, Climb2 and wander are good ones.

I have a bunch of others but ones like beat saber are neat but lose me because I can't load my own songs, and the libraries suck, without crazy hacking the device which I am not interested in doing. Beat saber needs a better way to let users load content. I understand licensing is an issue. But I want to play some metal man!

Vr games as a whole are way overpriced and very short. So just prepare yourself for that.

There are not demos (which is a big flaw of Vr games) but what you can do is if you play the game for less than 2 hours you can return it for a refund. I have not tried that feature yet but it should work. Just make sure the game follows the refund policy.

This might sound a little crazy, but I'm hoping for some non-snarky responses to my question:

I already have a Quest 2, that my kids use and set up under a FB account that my wife created specifically for this.

I do not have a FB account.

Assume I have/get a second Quest 2... I will need to use it for occasional "work things" (long story), but I'd also like to connect it to my PC to try out VR games.

I'm thinking I just make a new (fake-ish) FB account and use it for both professional and personal use? Or can you easily switch between two FB accounts on the Quest 2?

It's my understanding that you can have up to four accounts signed into a single Oculus quest device. The first account to be configured on the device is the administrator and it controls the overall settings of the device, including account management. After the device is initially set up, the administrator account can add additional accounts to the device as users. Switching between accounts on the device is fairly easy and straightforward after they've been initially signed in and authenticated.

The benefit of having more than one account on the device is that the games and apps that have been purchased and installed by the administrator can be shared with the other users on the device when they are signed in. The last time I checked the installed apps of the secondary user accounts cannot be shared with the administrator or other users. In most cases if you are configuring multiple devices for a family you would want to purchase the majority of games on a single account and have that account be the administrator on all devices so that the single player games can all be shared on all devices without having to purchase a copy for each account.

Most apps and games that have multiplayer functionality either will not work correctly or cannot be shared with other accounts because each account requires its own unique id to function in the game, and that requires a purchase. Check before you buy multiple copies however! I've found that some games/apps with multiplayer functionality occasionally work just fine but have minor multiplayer features, such as scoreboard rankings, disabled or unavailable.

Hope that helps. 👍

Well the device is using pretty much a cellphone chip. Quest 2 is still a very good PCVR headset.

Will the Quest fit in the case with the elite strap mounted?

Edit: Answered my own question poking around - yes it does.

You don't have to be wired to play steam games from your computer. You can set up airlink.
