Many prefer the 5120x1440 curved over 3840x2160, but the former has slightly less overall desktop pixel area. It's a preference. A VA panel is best for programming as it has the highest contrast ratio, for crisp text- but it's not good for gaming due to ghosting.

Is it possible to attach multiple computers to this one screen and have it act as two or three different monitors per computer?

Says it does but also that it's 32in so maybe maybe not. The real question is if this will be down to $320

Edit: has a lot of features, all the assistants, apple airplay, remote, I need a TV and monitor but being able to switch is the most important thing. I'm hoping autoswitch works but even if it doesn't at least I have the remote.

Yes to autoswitch. Spec sheet says this monitor has something called "Automatic Source Switch Plus". The USB-C port is pretty convenient if you plan to use this monitor with a modern laptop or a phone. I think it also has a 2-port KVM that switches between the USB-C device and another.

EDIT: Looks like no KVM switching, but it does function as a HUB for the device connected to USB-C.

Need a .edu email address or employer that participates in Samsung discount program. Gives an extra $57 off.

Yeah its cheaper through Samsung, but I can't order it. Says unavailable for shipping and it says unavailable for pickup anywhere nearby (even though I actually confirmed local Best Buy has it; confirmed via website and in person when I picked up my S8 Ultra). I've been checking daily for a couple of weeks as their website often screws up in weird ways (price changes, shows in stock or not) and I've been keeping an eye on this in particular as it fits a specific use case (family member that does all their computing on their Samsung phone) very well.

I'd likely have bought two of them as some of the features would be nice to try, and I'd have use for them even if the features didn't work out.

Was tempted to nab the 32" version, but the use case is replacing a 55" TV and going to 32" would be too drastic of a downsize (the 55" is actually too big). For the other use, I think the 32" QHD non-smart monitor that they have would be a better fit for many for PC use (and its USB C supports 90W whereas I think these "smart monitors" only support 65 W). I even considered the 34" ultrawide for a bit, but I think I'm gonna wait for Thunderbolt 4/USB-4 monitors.

For programming and upping productivity speed, this monitor is amazing.. I have multiple separate windows open for web dev. Its ideal when separating concerns (MVC). I just plug in my mac (clamshell mode) this acts like a hub (webcam/keyboard/mouse) while it also provides power (m1 max). Compared to its 32" version, this monitor is much brighter (450-500) and screen is matte. Oh also compared to the LG versions, this weights around ~18lbs. I have it mounted on an inexpensive montior arm. It is able to go to sleep when mac sleeps and wakes up automatically when it wakes up.

Bought this from Microcenter a couple of weeks ago for $379.99 and returned today!

Using with the M1 Pro laptop, the USB C didn't work at all! No PiP or PBP option!
