Yes I agree. Even a 1080p TN panel would have been good but considering the price and the other specifications, I would still consider it. All Chromebooks at this price point, come with either 32GB or 64GB eMMC Storage whereas this one is having a NVMe 128GB SSD which is way more faster and you can upgrade it as well.
Similarly, most laptops will come with 4GB 21333 or 2400 MHz DDR4 Ram and a Intel low end Celeron/Pentium or AMD Athlon CPUs whereas this one is with 8GB DDR4 3200 Ram and a pretty strong 11tth Gen Core i3.

Screen is terrible, but when you realize the use-case for a Chromebook - schoolwork for younger kids - it's not too bad. Most of what they're doing won't benefit from a higher resolution, anyway, and it's probably better for their eyes.

It would also make a good Plex / media server.

I think the display resolution may be wrong... Best buy has similar if not same one which is 1080p. Also looking at other specs does not look like it can be less than 1080p... Backlit keyboard/fingerprint reader/8gb/i3. Ordered one can always return if there is a mismatch...


Actually may be it's correct amazon has this one which has same display resolution but price at Amazon is 558

I wonder why would hp make this with overall good specs for cb but put a below average display.

Still at this price point it may be ok.. 127 delivered to home

Amazing specs for the price but very bad screen resolution. If I were a kid I'd hate my parents if I had to watch 5-6 hours of movies on this during my summer break.

Idiot question. I have an external display so I would get the resolution from that not the chrome book itself right, avoiding the subpar resolution? It checks all the other boxes for me.

For parents of kids in chromebook school districts. Every dollar counts and a 1080 is unnecessary for the main use case.
