I checked Harbor Freight. I think HF may not have a 12' x 12' slant-leg canopy, but they do have a smaller 10" x 10" slant-leg canopy [harborfreight.com] for $65. So I think Walmart has the slicker deal right now.

I bought the 8x8 for 44...technically this is .60c a square foot. The 8x8 is .68c, making the 10x10 technically a better value. I think the side shades add more Value than a pure 10x10.

Quality of these is terrible. Expect to get 1 year out of it, 2 maybe if you baby it. I generally take care of my things and the canopy on these is thin; I had wear holes at the top of the legs after 10 or so uses.

Slant legs suck in my experience. Straight leg 10x10 canopy is the way to go for most things.

I've used the 10x10 ozark trail straight legged one camping for 3 years now and it's held up well. They do not advertise rain protection on these but mine does hold out the rain, although I've heard others who have had the opposite experience.

gave up on cheapie pop up canopies. i see too many of them get trashed in mild weather conditions. this one is small 9x9 and for the upcharge to a decent 10x10 is not that much more considering how much longer it lasts.

Academy has the one push 10x10 straight leg canopies for $99. Very easy to set up by yourself. Even at $40 more expensive, still better. Wait for a better deal.

Yeah. Unless all you're concerned with is price and you're looking for something practically disposable I'd recommend a straight leg canopy. A 10x10 straight leg canopy will give more shade than this 12x12. It will also be sturdier and last longer. Finally there are a ton of accessories for standard 10x10 canopies, but very few for slant legged one. For example we have a shade wall with pockets that's super useful camping for additional shade and convenient places to put stuff.

We actually have a 13x13 canopy. It's basically a standard 10x10 straight leg design with eaves that fold out an additional 1.5 feet on each side. I always really appreciate the extra shade, so I can't imagine going with something that provides half as much.

If you do go with this (or similar cheap slant leg canopy) make sure you appropriately stake it out and use the guy lines in even modest wind. It will help it last longer.

Generally less so from what I've seen and heard. I don't think it's anything to do with the engineering of it, but that slant leg is generally synonymous with cheap and cheap materials.

I'm looking for something temporary to park my SUV under to keep it from getting wet. Any recommendations?
