Anyone have an opinion on how well this Thinkbook can support an i7-1260 vs. the i5-1240? I assume it's close but i don't know how the 12th gen processors have been working out in the real world.

The have the same core count and exact same 4P+8E configuration. In this kind of Thin & Light Chassis, you will get better single threaded performance but more or less same multi-threaded performance. This chassis has Dual Fan design and I have seen this to provide around 35W-40W Boost and around 30W consistent Power to the CPU. But you'll get definitely around 10% better IGP performance.

QHD or not, size matters and that screen is too small.

Depends what you want it for, I guess.

I have a 17" gaming laptop/DTR that I'm not lugging anywhere. I also have a 13" laptop for convenience and travel. Best of both worlds.

Both bought off sd. 😎

Definitely won't recommend these. I got it last year and the motherboard failed. Lenovo fixed it and it failed again within 10 days! Terrible quality.. Spend more and get a good Surface or even Galaxy Book!
