Very true. However, if you are in the market for these newer, high output batteries, a quick hack with the rocket dual power work light drops the price to $169.32+tax for the batteries.

To those who complain about 'the hack not working', maybe we have to say to use 'hack 2.0'. Yes, it is more effort. And, perhaps YMMV as well depending on the store associate, but there are now two ways to go.

1) order both to home or store and return one (same option as always existed)

2) order shipped to store for both BUT CHANGE the store for one item to a different location. Then, just don't pick up the item (and it will auto-cancel in 7ish days).

Either way, HD seems to want to cut down on the problems created by giving free tools (hence their implementation of the 'must choose same shipping method' requirement). So, if you want to load up on hackable 2.0 items, now is the time before they just bundle everything together like other brands/stores.

These deals always kill me. "Free tool with $300 battery purchase". It's not a terrible deal, but that tool is far from free.

Would this work if I picked up the tool and not the batteries? And how would I calculate the effective deal price of the tool in that case?

How long does it take to auto-cancel/refund?

I have two sets of batteries that have been ready for pick since June 11th (15 days ago) that still have't been cancelled.

Add the starter kit and the tool of your choice to cart and select a different store for each item. Go to cart and it will show you the new price of each item. Pick up the item you want, then call the other store and cancel the item you don't want.

This is the same deal I ordered from Northern Tool a few months ago with the Grinder for $220. Unfortunately, they cancelled the order as I was expecting. Hopefully that price will come back.

I got the router for $99 with the hack. I just ordered the fuel grinder with this deal. Tired of using a corded grinder.
