Very true. However, if you are in the market for these newer, high output batteries, a quick hack with the rocket dual power work light drops the price to $169.32+tax for the batteries.

To those who complain about 'the hack not working', maybe we have to say to use 'hack 2.0'. Yes, it is more effort. And, perhaps YMMV as well depending on the store associate, but there are now two ways to go.

1) order both to home or store and return one (same option as always existed)

2) order shipped to store for both BUT CHANGE the store for one item to a different location. Then, just don't pick up the item (and it will auto-cancel in 7ish days).

Either way, HD seems to want to cut down on the problems created by giving free tools (hence their implementation of the 'must choose same shipping method' requirement). So, if you want to load up on hackable 2.0 items, now is the time before they just bundle everything together like other brands/stores.

These deals always kill me. "Free tool with $300 battery purchase". It's not a terrible deal, but that tool is far from free.

The quick lock trimmer with 8ah battery, rapid charger, and free 5.0 battery was $300 and I think it still might be. You can return the 5ah for $100 value and it drops the other stuff down to $200 which is a good deal

I have the standard vacuum not pack out. 99% of the time I use this to vacuum vehicles and on one charge I can do about three or four vehicles

I bought this twice; I got the packout shop vac and the rocket light. I needed the shop vac for doing dry wall repairs and cleaning up wood debris when I'm installing microwaves. I've read reviews that the 6.0 batteries will only give me 36 mins…but I can't imagine vacuuming something that long…doing drywall on small patches will only be like 5 mins or so…just make your patches cleaner so you won't need to sand it down as heavily… I also bought that rocket light; I've used it a few times working in my garage…it doesn't get much usage…you can use the battery or plug it into the wall outlet. I just wish it would of charged my battery when I'm using the outlet. I knew I didn't need that much batteries so I sold one set to my neighbor and kept one set and the two tools.
