Oh man the air fryer bashing in this thread is hilarious. You gotta wonder why people are so confidently proud to tell the world that they don't know how to use a simple kitchen appliance.

You're still supposed to oil the fries, you just don't use as much. It's just as much about timing and temperature as it is the seasoning.

Your expectations must have been that $50-$100 air fryer would magically taste the same as anything deepfried and still have the health benefits. I personally like air fryers for what they accomplish and there must be a reason why they have been popular for years. But I could be wrong, you sound like you are the authority everyone should go to. Thanks boss

I own this model. No complaints, would buy again. For size reference I've cooked 4 normal sized chicken thighs if using both drawers.

air fryers are great at reheating previously fried foods. but if you are trying to imitate fried food its more akin to grilled than fried.

bought an air fryer , fries taste like card board, tasteless. real Chicken , breaded came out like rubber

guess i am spoiled and rather spend 50 bucks on 15 gallons of peanut oil and deep fry

My take on it , if air fryers were so good then restaurants would be using them

They aren't "so good", but they are an acceptable replacement for some. I would never bother with a conventional fryer-- the smell/mess just aren't worth it to me personally, not to mention I would not let my children go near it (they use our air fryer at least twice a day). Prior to purchasing one, they were occasionally microwaving chicken strips, and they would never bother with a conventional oven so they just didn't eat fries at home unless we made them. Now we go through 4lb Just Bare chicken bags at least once a week. I'd like to say their fast food intake has slowed, but unfortunately it is just supplemented now. It did take us a few tries (temperature, seasoning, etc) to get the fries to come out better than the oven, and a bit of changing up brands and deciding what works in it and what doesn't.

Anyways, glad I'm not spoiled laugh out loud

I had an air fryer from Insignia and it was recalled because it could spontaneously combust. Price is tempting but I ended up getting a Ninja brand one instead.

FYI, a bunch of older Insignia air fryers were recalled not too long ago.
$50 GC for mailing it back.

im good but thanks for the advice , If air fryers were so great Mcdonalds would be cooking their fries like that
I'm not comparing them to McDonald's. I just like being able to eat fries daily without all the oil. It took time to get right but in my case worth it. Not for everyone for sure.

I bought this one for the dual action and good reviews. I have the powerxl but the surface scratches like crazy. I have the insignia pressure cooker and it works like a champ. Hoping this one repeats that success.
