I could say the same thing with microwave popcorn

vs a real corn popper and just adding your own seasoning.

I moved away from microwave popcorn bags years ago.
Yes. You can.

Oh man the air fryer bashing in this thread is hilarious. You gotta wonder why people are so confidently proud to tell the world that they don't know how to use a simple kitchen appliance.

I bought my air fryer top of the line at sams club , returned it with the bag of tyson real honey barbcue nuggets. Glad you enjoy your air fryer with your kids, I guess if i grew up on dog food i would probably like it too
Will do, thanks. Thanks for the warning about the Tyson bbq-- they do sound vile! If you ever can get that taste out of your mouth, give the Just Bare Chicken Chunks from Costco a shot. So good

bought an air fryer , fries taste like card board, tasteless. real Chicken , breaded came out like rubber

guess i am spoiled and rather spend 50 bucks on 15 gallons of peanut oil and deep fry

My take on it , if air fryers were so good then restaurants would be using them
When did air fryers season your food?

If microwave was as good, they'd use them in movie theaters 😉

You eat Tyson chicken nuggets and then accuse other people of eating dog food?

My grandma had the same complaint (she's 91 years old bless her heart). Found out she was using it wrong. Now she loves it. Maybe ask the staff at the retirement community for some assistance if you can't quite figure out how to use it? I am sure they would love to help you out before wheeling you in to the community room for casino night!

nah you dont have to use me as an example.
You can thank the millions of fast food joints who dont use air fryers that are still in business today
There are fast food joints around me that do have airfried fries (and no deep fried option either). Most restaurants wouldn't use it, because air frying takes much longer so not as feasible unless you switch your whole operation.

I have been using original airfryers (Tefal actifry) since 2007 or so. There are tricks to making a good fry the same as deep frying: pre-washing for getting rid of excess starch etc. McDonalds treats their potatoes with pectin, double fries, freezes in between and other stuff, all can make the air fried better as well. So it takes prep time and knowledge.

Once you figure your system out it's really good. Is it better than the best fried french fry that is magically crunchy yet fluffy just the perfect amount? No. But it's on par or better with what you would be served in most restaurants that employ minimum wage workers. If I'm not eating freshly cooked five guys fries directly at the restaurant, eh, I'd rather have air fried fries that don't get soggy in 5 minutes.

Wings? Wings are amazing too. And so is a lot of stuff. When something doesn't taste good I don't blame my spatula or stovetop, it's clearly a technique issue.

I had an air fryer from Insignia and it was recalled because it could spontaneously combust. Price is tempting but I ended up getting a Ninja brand one instead.
You don't like your food extra crispy with that smokey flavor?

It sounds like you didn't know how to use it and gave up halfway through your 1st try.

Lol you beat me to it. Lots of small minded people in this thread.

Classic slick deals and Amazon - people complaining devices don't work when they are literally just using them wrong.

Using an air dryer and no oil I can get fries 99% as good as fast food fries. It's all about learning to use your machine properly.

I'm sorry you're just wrong. It's the most amazing appliance I have in my house. I wish I would have bought one sooner.

I have a dual air fryer with divider inside to make it one big basket (CRUXGG brand from Target). I made Tonkatsu (Japanese pork dish) yesterday and it was delicious. I like air fryer over deep oil frying because it's a lot less mess to clean up afterwards and also it doesn't heat up my small kitchen compared to using stove or oven. (It gets really hot when I cook with stove or oven duing the summer.)

White one is on sale at $67.99 at Target. Although it is out of stock for shipping, you may be able to find at local Target for free pickup or you can set an instock notification for shipping. Target inventories change often, so there's a good chance it will be in stock verry soon.
