I've purchased a couple of these from Woot during previous sales. Aside from being decent tablets for a very low cost (use Fire Toolbox to disable ads and turn it into a mostly-regular android tablet), I currently use one as a digital receiver/GPS/multimedia console for my older car and I use the other as a security monitor for all of my cameras, or sometimes as a Streamdeck which is useful for adding additional macro functionality to my PC.

the really old tablets make great large digital clocks. They are pretty much useless for anything else unless you have unlimited patience.

These aren't bad prices. I'm about to trade-in my 8th gen 16gb HD 8 and Amazon is offering me $25 for it.

I'll use that and the 20% off trade-in coupon towards the new 32gb HD8 , which I'm guessing will be $45 during Prime Days.

At $32 bucks for a 32GB Fire HD 8 I will feel much better when the kids destroy it in short order and if need something better Amazon days are right around the corner.

It's not a bad deal. Keep in mind that these are devices that people have traded in. I've traded in quite a few and one reason I have is if the battery life had declined. Instead of weeks, it really needed to be charged anytime I wasn't actively using it.

Crazy how someone would use these as just a clock. My alarm clock is large digital, has radio presets, multiple white noise functions, dual alarms, temperature, sleep function, 2 outgoing USB ports, and more...yet it cost less. Odd.

These are the older models that, if you're comfortable with linux, you can root and install LineageOS. The custom rom makes the tablet much more useful and quite a bit less laggy since all the bloat is removed.
I see a lot of people wall mounting them and using them as a cheap smart home control interface.

There was a time in Fall 2021 when Amazon was selling them New for $30 to $40 since the newest Gen PW was about to come out.
I traded my old one in at Black Friday and it had 3 years' worth of everyday use. It might be getting sold there on woot right now. IDK

It's too close to Prime Day to be buying one from Woot, imo.
