I purchased and returned this laptop after a few days of using it as my daily. There was no USB-C charging capability and if I played more than one Youtube video the videos would lag like crazy, this persisted even after firmware updates. I believe the Gigabyte system management software is to blame.

I was attempting to replace last year's Asus ROG Zephyrus 15 but the ROG felt more stable and still gives me little to no issues.

DDR4? That's old technology. Wait and hold.
DDR5 would just get you a more expensive system with no real speed gain

LOL .. Literally no one would recommend waiting for DDR5 right now - it's expensive, and offers hardly any improvement in it's current state. The only thing DDR5 gives you right now is the ability to say "On paper, it looks good! And it costs more!". The higher latency right now hurts DDR5 compared to DDR4.

If you don't mind open box and really want DDR5 the xe5 is available for $140 more

Only 105W RTX 3070 Ti.
You might as well save money and get one with a full powered 3060 for cheaper.

Many aren't full powered, even the beloved Asus M16. If you want a premium build, OLED, nice specs, you won't find a better price for many months. Gigabyte can have quirks, so make sure to thoroughly test the machine before your return period closes.

I guess 105W 3070 Ti is worse than the 130W 3070 in the Legion 5 Pro, right?

Absolutely. I also think the peak w of the lenovo is 140w but I could be wrong.

Mainly for content creation imo. Has to be at least 120hz I fi want to use it for gaming, oled or otherwise. Also 105w for the gpu is, again, low for gaming. Just don't expect high end gaming.

Well, personally, I like the DDR4 memory cause I can repurpose the two 32 GB sticks I already have sitting here.

I mean there are many games out there other than FPS where you need 120hz. It's perfectly fine for high end non-FPS games.

You can't force the GPU to be enabled out the box while not game. It was so complicated it wasn't even worth attempting and the iGPU was not optimized at all for this machine. Just playing multiple youtube videos would create a severe studder. Save your money.
