eBay is a dying business who has done an excellent job of pissing/pushing off long time customers with asinine promotion policies. I have not purchased a thing from eBay in over a year. Used to be my go to place after Amazon

Like ALL bucks offers over the past 18-24 months, I did not receive this one.
Who knows what logic ebay uses to determine eligibility on these offers, but it is a TOTAL FAILURE.
My account is over 21 years old. I am a 'Top Rated" seller with a high transaction count at 100% positive. I have made ebay thousands of dollars.
I used to go on a buying spree when these offers would come in.
Oh well!
Lately I buy and sell things elsewhere at lower prices. My ebay prices are marked up to cover their high fees, and I'm sure all other sellers are doing the same.
Yes, I'm upset that ebay doesn't do the 20% off coupons anymore. I'm also upset that Advance Auto Parts doesn't do the 40 off 110 or 25 off 75 coupons anymore, and the 15% coupons they offer can't be used on the basics like brake pads, rotors, and light bulbs.
It was nice, but it killed their margins and made them less profitable.
Ebay used to be a $30-35 stock when they did those coupons. Now they're $45 even after dropping from a high of $80 during the peak.
Advance Auto Parts used to be a $90 stock. Now they're $180 after a high of $240 during the peak.
So yeah, I'm bitter, but I get it. They can't afford to do those promos anymore. Especially if people keep buying regardless of the discount. They don't want SDer's business.
When i worked in retail we had this really cheap laptop we made no money on. People did work on commission, and for various reasons, they did not want to help customers with that laptop cuz they didn't make any commission on it. So these people buying the cheapest unit we sold would make a big fuss over not getting helped immediately sometimes. But the customers didn't realize we didn't really care about the sale. We wanted customers we could actually make money on.

What other places are you using? I haven't been able to tell / bothered to research if some of the other ads I get are legit up-and-coming businesses or fly-by-night auction scam sites.

yep, same here . . . shifted to AliExp and Amazon couple years ago. no need to deal with the ebay discount joke. starting to move away from Amazon too, most of the stuff can be had at Walmart without the cost of membership.
