For the ones who didn't stack a bunch of PS Plus subscription before they switched over to the new tier system:

If you were on PS Plus and are now under PS Plus "Essential", Sony is giving you the option to upgrade to PS Plus "Extra" or "Premium" for a flat fee of $100/$150 no matter how many years of "Essential" subscription you have left.

So what you want to do if you are interested in getting into "Extra" or "Premium" for cheap is buy a couple 12 months Playstation Plus Essential for $45 after coupon 10PAYPAL (selecting PP as payment. One time use but it look like they go by IP address...I was able to buy a couple using different devices on different networks. Buy like 2x12months with the coupon then another 2x12 months with a device off Wi-Fi as apparently the cap for the coupon is $108 thanks @dopeyman06 for the tip! ) and then upgrade to Playstation Plus Extra for a $100 flat fee (or Premium for $150) no matter how many years of Essential subscription you have remaining.

Do NOT buy the old PS Plus cards as Sony disabled the option to stack the subscriptions on those so they are only for one year, first time subscribers.

(I bought subscriptions until 12.2028 then upgraded to "Extra" see pic below)

OK let me try to explain again:

You had PS Plus that was converted to PS Plus "Essential" under the new PS Plus Subscription 3 Tiers system. You can add 12 months of PS Plus Essential for $45 from the link above (instead of $59).

Now Sony is letting you upgrade your PS Plus "Essential" subscription to "Extra" or "Premium" tier for a $100/$150 flat fee (which otherwise would cost you $40/$60 extra a year) no matter how many years of "Essential" subscription you have left . So stack as many years of PS Plus "Essential" as you can and the cheaper it will be to get the "Extra" or "Premium" Tiers (the break even point is at around 2 years, anything after that makes the tier upgrade cheaper and cheaper)
You can stack membership for any amount of years (not sure if there is a limit). Instead of paying $100+ per year with the new subscription model you can just pay 45 per year and then convert the membership with $100. Example you buy 10 years at $45 for $450 and upgrade for $100 totals $550. If you pay $100 at original price you saved $450
I'm confused

I bought PS plus in 2020 for 15 years from cd keys for 23 a piece.

so happy, just paid 150 few days ago for 13 remaining years of ps premium lol.

I am paying 34.5 a year average for the next 13 years of ps premium.

Do not buy this as that's for the old PS Plus which Sony disabled the multi year stacking of subscription (so it only works for new users and for one year only).

Sony disabled the multi year stacking of subscription
Sony had said it was only until the release of their new scheme.
Does anyone actually KNOW if they still prevent stacking using the older codes ?

reddit says the limit is 2 years now.
cannot confirm as im 13 years out and im not trying to stack again.
loan me a code and I will tell you if you can stack. bhwahahaha

for the next 13 years its costing me 450 dollars (23 year + 150)x13 = 450 and cdkeys I dont recall didnt charge me any tax. but I think PS plus does if I buy it at ps store. I forget.

13 years of ps plus is 1560 @ 120 before tax.

I saved 72% over the yearly rate.

not bad.

FYI, I have tried using my phone's IP Address and coming in through VPN, and the 10paypal code is tied to my account and not my IP Address. I was able to use the code ONE time only no mater the IP Address I tried to buy from.

It won't work if you're using your wifi cause it's still tethered to your IP address. Turn off your wifi and it should work. It worked for me.

The 10PAYPAL code won't work for anything over $108. So I purchased 2 years via my computer. And another 2 years with my iPhone with the wifi disabled.

So if I wanted to upgrade to Extra, I'd only pay $100. Which will be good until December 2026.

But the only difference I see in packages is "Games Catalog." Can someone tell me what that is?

No. Once you move up a tier whatever you add is converted to that tier. You'll get $60 of Extra if you add a card for 1 year Essential.
