If you just spent almost $1k on a bike, cough up the extra $55 to get that much more robust lock (vs the walmart lock). Still not entirely theftproof but this is better than almost anything out there under $100.
Which lock are you referring to? Everything I've read says Kryptonite chain is the strongest single solution for bikes and motorcycles aside from parking in a garage.

The one I originally linked. I feel better knowing that mine is a little bit longer and that it only costs a couple more bucks than the one you linked if I got a similar length. $78 bucks for some peace of mind is well worth it, imo.

Yeah I went with the 3.3 ft and it's still barely long enough sometimes.

Battery powered angle grinder is more of a concern!
Any decent thief uses a drill on the lock cylinder. I've yet to see any lock last more than 5-10seconds when drilled. quick, easy and nearly fool proof.

Yeah, I wanted to make sure I had enough to chain the front wheel, back wheel, and frame. I can already tell it's going to be tight on certain places.

Got the bike. When putting it together, instruction says to use grease when putting a seat and pedals.

I don't have grease handy so I wonder if it is really needed and if not, what else I can use as alternative. WD40?

Anything is better than nothing. Also, the pedals suck. Should be one of the first upgrades you buy. I'm choosing quick release to further discourage thieves.

I am totally new to biking (been a few decades since I rode one).

The real issue is that this damn thing, after putting so much time and efforts putting it together, now does not turn on. The battery is on position so I am going to charge it up for a few hours and see what happens. I pressed and hold M button but nothing.

When I press and hold the button on the battery, it shows 2 green and 1 red. Does this mean this battery is totally dead?

Vaseline? The intent is to prevent corrosion between the steel and aluminum parts that will practically weld those bits together over time. If you move/remove those parts on a regular basis, you can skip the lube.

Various YouTube reviews I've seen for guns and chains showed WD40 is never an effective lubricant for heavy duty purposes. I'd go with the other guy's suggestion of Vaseline or go hit the store quick for some silicone grease.

What happens when you plug in the charger? Does it show red light on the charger brick or green?

I bought two bikes from them. A Groove and a Stride. Groove works well. Stride's battery appears dead on arrival. When I press the battery status button, it flashes red. Means the battery is depleted. When I plug in the charger, the charger thinks the battery is fully charged and turns on the green light on the charger brick.

I have submitted a support ticket. But I don't expect to hear back anytime soon.

2 Strides here. Both batteries came 75% charged. I let them charge for 30 mins and they were both 100%. I'm 'upgrading' to the RockBros pedals. Probably overkill for the casual rider (which I am). Also order mirrors (left side) for each bike.

Actually one of two wires by the handle was disconnected. Once both wires/cables were securely connected, all is good.

The battery still shows 2 green and 1 red so I have no idea what that means. I will just leave it connected to the charger for a while and see what happens.

Btw I bought a Groove and this is thing is quite big. I am 5'8 and still I out the seat all the way down.
