Should be possible to break it with an angle grinder.

'There is a way to also set a pass code on the bike to prevent the battery from running. Also someone mentioned you can buy quick disconnect pedals . The thief would have to carry the bike then. The bike is pretty much useless unless there is a way to revert back to default settings .

i guess its best to invest a great lock if you live in a crime area

I purchased 1 oof these during this sale. It will not accept a charge. The power supply flashes green, but battery won't charge on or off the bike.
Terrible customer service. No response to my ticket or daily calls after more than a week.

It's a nice ride, but can't recommend it on build quality and terrible customer service.

I mentioned this almost 3 weeks ago. Hopefully they send you a new battery. Hopefully you have a good credit card company that will not make you pay for the shipping back to the seller . PayPal may reimburse you up to 30 dollars.

These batteries probably cost 80 to 100 dollars in China and then they charge 200 to ship.

There is, which makes the passcode pretty much useless:
"NOTE: If you forget your password, enter 5555 to enter main interface, then enter "General Settings" by pressing UP [ + ] and DOWN [ - ] button at same time for over 2 seconds. Next follow steps noted below to "Change the Display Password" to set up your new password. "

500w may seem powerful, and if you live in flat areas, you'll probably get by just fine. However, 500w is pretty sluggish on hills, and being a wheel hub, 500w is even less powerful. 500w mid-drive would be better, or something with more power. I'd say for this price, you can find better options on AliExpress and roll the dice.
I have the Stride. I'm 6'1", 240 pounds. I live in a very hilly area.

This thing eats up hills and flat out flies on level ground.

I feel bad for the folks who received bad units as I'm thinking about getting another Gen3 for the wife.

The flex would have better suited you. I am sure it eats up small hills but try living above 6k feet on a mountain.

Is this a ladies or mens bike ?
Yes, this is a ladies or mens bike. There is nothing about either of these bikes that cares whether you're sporting an X or Y chromosome.

Do you live in a flat area? Do you intend on using pedal assist, or want to just live on the throttle (let the bike "do the work")? I'm 6'3" 230lbs, and I have a 1000w SMLRO bike from AliExpress (effective power is limited to 800w due to electrical limitations), and I am shopping for a 2000w bike someday soon (something dual motor).

If I were you, and you're shopping for your first eBike, I'd say look for something with large wheels (you're 6'6", so 26" wheels and you're probably gonna feel like an adult riding a kid's bike, look for 29" or a beach cruiser configuration/style), as much power as you can pay for, and preferable a mid-drive (the motor is at the pedal gears, rather than inside the wheel).
awesome. thank you!!

In case someone hasn't mentioned it in the 50 pages of comments. Apparently these bikes can be adjusted to go faster than 20mph. There's a wire you need to disconnect. I found this out in the Gen3 users group on Facebag. Haven't actually tried it yet though.

Im a 6'2 230lb make living in Denver (5280ft) at the top of a hill in the highest point of Denver and the Stride chews it up. I can make it up no problem in PAS 2-3 with little pedaling. Throttle also works with no pedaling.

I think on my steepest hill if the battery is on 1 or 2 bars i get 6-8mph which is pretty slow,

on a good battery i can hit 12 to 14mph

very few bike riders can probably go that fast pedaling up hill , it just kills the battery, i get about 15 miles with decent speed, i just get nervous if i am over 2 miles out on 1 or 2 bars. pedaling up hill is a disaster waiting to happen if the battery dies

you dont have to do that , just reprogram the CPU to tell the bike to go 40km/h
it wont do more than 1 mph over the rated speed so its useless

class 3 bikes are better

It goes up to 24-25 mph with PAS with wire trick. Before the motor would stop after 20mph. I'll take it.

So I bought the Stride with with promo back even before this original post back in June... I still dont have my bike after claiming Ill have it in 3-7 days.

First I was giving 2 incorrect tracking numbers. Then finally the correct one. But that got half way here and then was returned to shipper. I assume damaged in transit. So I connected them and asked whats going on and told me it was being returned and they are shipping out another new bike.

Then again, wrong tracking info. Finally got me right info and hopefully delivered tomorrow. About a month after first ordering it. But on this tracking number it says its the Groove bike, and not my original Stride. So cant wait to see if thats true, cause thats probably going to push me over the edge.

As seen in a previous comment (with pictures) I adjusted the settings and it still cuts out at 20 MPH. Ok these bikes the wire trick isn't the same as the video that has been posted. That cavity above the battery was empty on my bike minus the gold battery lock.
