I have this AC and it works well but the fan airflow makes it noisy even on low. It's my only complaint.

Edit: I have Model: AHP05LZ purchased at BestBuy. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/ge-1...Id=6390677

So never mind.

Check your utilities provider for rebate on Energy Star rated AC.

I have this AC in my guest room for 2 years so far, no complaints, that's why I am ordering my 2nd unit, 5200U, LCD display, Energy Star, remote control, hard to find another one with similar features for under 180 bucks.

It's just an average price for a 5000 BTU AC unit. No big deal here.

It's not going to cool a whole house. It's been 98-100 here for the past two weeks, I have a 5000 btu unit in my 12x14 bedroom and it keeps it well below 70 set at about 50%

5000btu sized for cooling 150sq ft. Larger rooms need bigger.

But depends on how cool you need. Eg a small ac might only cool to 80F on a 100F day, but if that's sufficient, no need for bigger.

My room is about 170 sq ft. 5000u version of this AC was enough for me in last 2 years.

Once you go with a U shaped unit, you will never go back. So quiet that I can hear my wife's silent but deadly farts!

When I placed the order, they automatically changed item into GE AHV05LZ , it is cheating.

Don't buy from them, they cheat on you by replace your order with worse one.
