This is not bad for an entry level machine, but TN is a deal breaker for many. I am expecting low $300s to get a 11th Gen i3/ IPS display / 8GB/ 256GB again soon.
I grabbed one not too long ago

IPS Panel and backlit keyboard for $340 as a different option on the same Amazon page. Definitely a solid machine for everyday browsing, spreadsheets, etc. at a good price.

I got the certified refurbished version of this not long ago. It's a great machine with 1 ram shot, m.2 slot, backlit keyboard, and the TN panel is actually a good brightness with good viewing angles.

I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a solid, cheap laptop.

Comments say you can add RAM? Is that for different model?

tn and dual core? too many cuts in this laptop to make it cheap. save up a little (maybe another 50-100$) and get a ryzen with an ips display.

The benchmarks on the 1115 are similar to those on the 1125 quad core (though certainly lower in some applications). I have 2 HPs with similar specs and they were frustratingly slow until I added more RAM. With the added RAM I haven't had any issues with basic browsing, streaming, spreadsheets, etc.

Try OLED screen if you need a good display.

I tried a TN panel a year or two ago when I grabbed a laptop for my wife. I had to return it immediately. Unless you have low standards or have never experienced anything other than a TN panel screen, this should be an immediate pass. I appreciate the price point of TN panels but nowadays, phone and tablet screens are so good it is impossible for me to set my phone down and start working on a display like this. To each their own and this is otherwise a solid deal. Personally, any time I see "TN" in the description, I'm immediately turned off to the deal

I grab this one not too long ago for 219. Nice laptop with IPS screen. Ebay Slickdeals acer deal.

So I was thinking when they make these models they keep the same screen since that might make production sense. But, yes, not IPS for that model.

Why they still make TN screens at 15.6 is a bit of shock to me.

You deserve better in life. Do not buy TN panels.

Display quality:

The 1920x1080 (1080P) display is good but not great. Using a 60hz TN (Not IPS) Innolux N156HGA-EA3 panel, the display maxes at 220 nits in brightness and is limited to 6-bit 262k color. This results in approximately 46% color coverage. For standard day to day use, it is more than adequate and it offers a very nice picture for the price with passable viewing angles and is very easy on the eyes; but if you're into heavy photo editing and/or require proper image color correction / higher color gamut you will need to seek out a notebook with a better display at a much higher price point.
