They're basic brushed, lithium battery tools. On par with Ryobi/black& decker/any other home jobber set. This is a case of 80/20. 80% of the performance for 20% of the cost.
That's not to put them down, they're miles above home jobber tools of 10-15 years ago. If you need a set for around the house buy it, and I recommend buying a $100 tool + 4ah battery set too. I went with the brush cutter.
HART power tools are made by the same company that makes Ryobi, Ridgid, and Milwaukee. They're not very different from Ryobi brushed tools.
