Yes, everyone has $2K+ to drop on a guitar.

I bought one of these a couple years ago and it really is a fun guitar. Don't let the bullet line discourage you. It plays really well and sounds great too. I really didn't need to do anything to it except for use a little 0000 steel wool on the back of the neck as it had some rough spots. The scale length is great for people with small hands or young beginners.

Why buy a house, buy a mansion instead.

Guys, would you suggest this for anyone who has never played guitar before to start? I'm not sure if I'll be able to invest a lot of time into that, but at least I'll try to make it. And if yes, what would you suggest to buy also? Some cheap setup? Thanks!
If you know you will stick with it you can look for a Made in Mexico Fender which is a bit more. But I wish I would bought an inexpensive guitar to start then figured what I really wanted after I stuck with it.

I think this is a pretty good beginner guitar. It could likely use a professional setup from a guitar tech ($50-80) to make it play very easily and hold its tuning.

Here's some other recommendations I've made: https://slickdeals.net/f/15816064-fender-fsr-cc-60s-concert-acoustic-guitar-natural-139-free-shipping?p=155937619#post155937619

JustinGuitar is an excellent, free online lesson series, here's their guide to guitar accessories: https://www.justinguitar.com/guit...eed-b0-040

For amplification, look for a used Boss Katana, Orange Crush, Roland Cube, Vox Pathfinder, or a headphone amp like my recommendations here: https://slickdeals.net/f/15816064-fender-fsr-cc-60s-concert-acoustic-guitar-natural-139-free-shipping?p=155524126#post155524126

Hard pass...get yourself a Gibson,Fender USA or Rickenbacker, they will appreciate and you won't lose your desire to practice.
That's not good advice at all. With all the modern CNC machining we have now these mass produced guitars generally aren't going to be a good investment.

Squier was good enough for Jeff Healey and he played it along side Stevie Ray Vaughn...

Kurt Cobain style. Nice! The MIJ Fender versions of these fetch a pretty penny. This is a great deal for a pretty guitar
That's the reason why, I bought this for my 14 year old instead of giving him an Easter basket earlier this year. He likes it.

I agree in most cases. Buy a made in USA or Japan guitar (used if money is an issue). Unless you have the time, skill (and money) to make a $200 guitar play, feel, and sound like a quality guitar, yes, you will not want to play it, or you will want to sell it to get a "real" guitar. Buy once...cry once.

Also like you say, a USA/Japan guitar will tend to appreciate in value, especially if purchased used.
I don't know were you've been, but cheap import guitars of good quality have been around for decades now. I've been playing for over 35 years and have/had many China made, Mexico made and USA made (as well as many other countries) guitars and the vast majority of all of them played well enough out-of-the-box, maybe a truss rod or bridge etc, adjustment. There is little to no correlation between price and playability. I mean there are only like 20 million youtube cheap guitar reviews to prove this. When guitars, cheap or expensive, sit for a long time, at home, in a music store, in warehouses etc, climate does it's thing, they need to be tweaked a little.

Laughable when I see all the comments saying you should get a Gibson that prices for ~20x as much as this. My 13 year old nephew's birthday is this month and I want him to get into playing a guitar. Did I get a little kid a $2500 guitar hoping he'd actually be interested in the hobby?! No! Maybe I'm a mean uncle but all I got him was a $180 Mitchell guitar from Guitar Center that if he doesn't end up being into it, "oh well"; it was only $180.

Delusional. Those guitars will not keep up with inflation, let alone appreciate. The boomers are all going to be dead soon and Gibson and Fender will go with them.

This will still lose half it's value when you open the box unlike USA models.
