Fake spot is one thing to consider, but anymore I won't buy without reviewing the 1 & 2 star reviews and looking for consistent complaints (especially if recent). Lots of complaints about this being too small. Looks like the pot will hold ~14 oz, so I suppose enough for a can of soup, but too small for a slice of bread. At that point I'm not sure how this would be better than a microwave.
A garbage rating site that a few people here love to mention when they don't like an item, despite it's ratings being pretty much meaningless. Fake Spot is fake news. You'd do much better looking at Amazon ratings, searching for items with hundreds if not thousands of reviews and as many combined 4 and 5 star ratings as possible, while watching out for a lot of 1 and 2 star reviews.

Most electric water ketles begin at around 900w. You have to search particularly hard to find things under 500w. I'm fairly confident it will work ok; after all I've had plug in 100w hot water boiler things that you stick into a cup, and it boils 12 oz in under 5...
