Depends on what you prioritize. If you have multiple HDMI 2.1 gaming consoles (PS5, XSX, PC) I'd go with the C1. If none of that matters to you, wait on the Sony. The Sony supports HDMI 2.1, but it's limited to HDMI ports 3(eARC), and 4. If you plan on using a sound bar or AVR, you'll either have to get a HDMI 2.1 compliant receiver for HDMI 2.1 passthrough, get a HDMI 2.1 switch, or run your audio through optical (not ideal). The Sony 77" will have better picture quality and it has a glossy finish unless the smaller A80Js that have a semi matte screen. Enjoy whatever you decide to get.

I was able to get a brand new g1 oled 65" for $1500 (before tax) and though I love it, I really wanted a 77". Is this a deal worth returning my 65" for or should I stick with the g1 series and wait for a 77"? Thanks

return the 65, then hit that place that doesnt charge sales tax for either 65 or 77 Smilie

if buydig is going to advertise this price...i sincerely wonder how low it will be on others and who else will price match.

amazon is doing 10% back on their credit card...so that may be an option too.

That's what I hoping will happened as well, that other places will price match. I wouldn't mind either this or the Sony.

That was a good deal on the G1 but this is better. I too got a good deal on a 55" G1 for $1200 but canceled it when I was able to get a 48" C1 for $700. Experts say the G1 picture is very similar to C1 with the major differences being the flush wall mount ability of the G1 and the 5 Year Warranty.

I always believe a bigger screen is a more noticeable upgrade than slightly better picture quality, but in this case you're not sacrificing quality, just warranty. I would return the G1 if you can get your hands on this C1 77". It's the bigger size you wanted all along anyway πŸ˜‰

Now I wonder if Costco or Best Buy will do something similar. They usually do.
I sure hope so. I just pulled the trigger at $2600 a couple of weeks ago

What are you targeting? I don't know how low to expect 83" to go this year ... or just compromise with this one.

Edit - The lowest I've seen for 83" is 3800-4000 range. Thats almost double this price OMG

Thanks for replying! I think the better option is to return the 65" and get the 77" πŸ˜„

I agree! The 77" would definitely look better in my living room. Thanks for replying! 😁

I would definitely return if you're still within your window! I remember every year I would go and look at the 65"/67" at Costco display and drool over either, but never really noticed how much bigger the 77" is over the 65" since Costco warehouses make both screens look tiny.

Then I read a comment here saying something like, "Always get the biggest tv your space and budget can accommodate! And realize that the 77" is like 40% more screen size than the 65". Splurge as much as you can on your tv and your bed since you'll probably end up using those two things the most in the next 5 years" And it hit me. Hard. Haha.

We went full send on the CX 77" ~2 years ago for 3300 and never regretted it for one second. It's massive and absolutely gorgeous. So so so happy we got the bigger size. If you can afford it, and at this price it's not that much more expensive, just do it!!! ☺️

The 10% is specifically listed for several LG OLED models; including the 77" and 83".

Those are some great points! lol Thanks for the recommendation, I agree with you and what others have said. Luckily I'm still in my return window so I'll be upgrading soon! 😁
