I have this monitor and love it. I paid like $400+ from Microcenter a couple years ago, this is a steal.

Sometimes Asus monitors get really cheap, like the XG27AQ went down to $399 and never got there again, so if you want it, jump on it.

Even though I have already placed the order, still wanted to ask - would it be a good one for watching video/movies and programming work?

Last time posted was a FP deal @ $259 last year.

I wanted a cheap one sub 200, but 30+ more for a better one.

Thanks for posting

Yes, I have a ProArt 24" but the VG27AQ is just as good, maybe better. For movies a VA panel is probably better but not sure I'd go that route if it's only for occasional movie watching.

Cool, thanks! Yeah it is very occasional movie watching or YT videos but most of the time I am going to be programming on IDEs and browsing

Just recently got one for a 3rd monitor to go on top of my main for video and web. It works fine and has solid contrast, brightness and dark enough blacks for my use. It would be interchangeable with my PG279Q and may actually handle motion slightly better. For mixed use its phenomenal, but if youre doing editing and need the absolutel strongest color accuracy I would look elsewhere.

How does this compare to the Dell that was recently on front page?

Here's a comparison between those 2 monitors: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/asus-tuf-vg27aq-vs-dell-s2721dgf/1640/16485?usage=3623&... [rtings.com]

A more detailed YT review video on this ASUS monitor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5...areUnboxed

I'd say it really depends on your use case. As personally I will just use it for casual gaming and programming stuff, it is a great deal considering its almost $70 less than the DELL one. YMMV

Thanks. I did a little research after posting that question. I will be using it for 16:9 gaming for shooters and other games that arent ultrawide friendly, and as a side monitor. I'm with you that it being $70 cheaper makes it a worthwhile purchase. If I end up not liking it I can always return.

For about the same price and size between 27" to 34" are both ok, how is this compare to the 34" Samsung LS34J552WQNXZA 3440x1440 75Hz UltraWide VA Monitor $249 for mostly coding?

Beware dead pixels. I own the 27" curved and have a few out of the box. Not noticeable enough to return but there. I have read others with the same issue with this brand. Takes a lot of tweaking and a good video card to get that look you want.

If you have a curved one then can you please share its model? I was checking online and it appears the curved one might be the VA panel model (the specific model might be VG27WQ1B) and if it is indeed VA then it is completely different than the one we have here since it is an IPS panel

I had to pull the trigger on this slick deal!

I've been waiting for YEARS to snag a 2560 x 1440 monitor for a good price. And this one even has HDR for the bonus!

I believe this supports the PS5...meaning it upscales 1440p
