canola oil has a lower smoke point than vegetable oil, so I dunno how exactly this "formulated for high heat"

It's a gimmick. Not a bad deal, but there's nothing about this that makes it 'formulated' to work any better on a hot grill. The second the temp passing the upper 400 range, any type of oil will just combust away.

I like to use the Avocado oil spray from trader Joe's. Are there any other "healthier" alternatives that don't use vegetables oils for grilling?

Yes jzyoufool this is made for high heat but, I'd say that it would be useful for kitchen or grill use. It's been a long time since I paid less than $2 for 2 good sized cans!
