One main reason MTB/gravel riders upgrade to 1x (one by) drivetrain is to simplify the derailleur adjustments. This bike can be upgraded to 1x later, but would require upgrading the rear hub/wheel. There's nothing wrong with 3x drivetrain on this bike. In my opinion, 1x is more of a quality-of-life upgrade, others might tell you 1x also saves weight.

If I were a beginner, these are what I would personally do on this bike...
Immediate budget upgrades:
- Shorter stem <45mm. Wake is ~$10 on Amazon
- Can't find bar length on this bike but if <700mm, upgrade to >700mm bar. How much wider and rise depend on personal preferences and comfort. Decent budget ones are $20-30 on Amazon
- Lock-on grips. Personally hate any flared grips, and slip-on's at that. Again personal preference. My favorite budget lock-on grips are $10-15 on Amazon
- Pedals. Most stock pedals suck. Expensive bikes don't even come with pedals. Budget Fookers are $20-25 on Amazon, basically clones of more expensive pedals
These are all simple upgrades for beginners. Plenty of YT videos on DIY. But if you don't plan on using this bike for its intended purpose -- trail riding, then forget any upgrades and just ride it as-is.- Stem [amazon.com]

Would not do any of that on the Huffy bike the other guy mentioned, nor my 700c gravel bikes.
The bike is packed very well, way better than the rockrider I got from walmart a month ago. it took me 4 or 5 mins to cut off all the foam protection that are taped nicely around all major parts.

I purchased 18. I took down the seat tube and don't see any numbers that are close to the ones in your list.
