Stem [amazon.com]

Pedals [amazon.com]

Be sure to watch YT for installations. Common installation mistakes for above items include over-tightening and tightening wrong direction.

Start with these 2 videos and be patient:

How to Adjust a Front Derailleur [youtu.be]
How to Adjust a Rear Derailleur [youtu.be]

One main reason MTB/gravel riders upgrade to 1x (one by) drivetrain is to simplify the derailleur adjustments. This bike can be upgraded to 1x later, but would require upgrading the rear hub/wheel. There's nothing wrong with 3x drivetrain on this bike. In my opinion, 1x is more of a quality-of-life upgrade, others might tell you 1x also saves weight.

Hahaha you and feisty person got them flip flopped!

This is so funny to me because when I tried to get them to change my order to a 18" from 20" they said in a loud voice, totally different product. I explained same product different size. Nope haha

Does yours say 20" on the frame?

Haha yeah I think we swapped. I looked on the box, and the item # matches the one for 20. In my order confirmation the item # was for 16.

Yep.. I should have got #742421 but on the box I received #742419. Disappointing to say the least. Wish I was paying attention when I was putting it together. Doubt asking to swap them out with Camping World will work since they are all OOS, if you manage any recourse with them let me know.

🤦 I linked the specs from the Marlin 5 and the Rendal (which is the actual model we received from camping world):

https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_U...5/p/33136/

https://www.framedbikes.com/colle...8103580790
That is like buying a loudspeaker based purely on its "specs". Why actually listen to it. Lol. Specs are the same so it must sound the same, right?
What about long term reliability? What about construction (aka welding, etc)?
Again, if this bike was directly comparable in all ways to a $600 trek, why isn't it outselling the trek? Or is it? If so, why is it most folks have never heard of the brand? Why isn't it all the rage as the trek-killer? Again, it doesn't add up. Are you saying when set side by side with this bike, people are handing over $200 more just for the Trek stickers??

It's priced at 550, 125 was a crazy low and brief clearance. In addition framed is not heavily marketed whereas trek is arguably the largest bike brand sold in lbs. I think most people who are fixated on brand recognition aren't informed enough to actually know what they're paying for and fail to do the due diligence of research to get the best value to performance for their money, case in point.

Dude I would totally call them. They took it so serious when I mentioned another size. "Sir, that is item number ##### not #####. It's a separate product." So they sent you the wrong item. Maybe they would at least give a discount if they don't have any 16" stashed away some place.

Framed is popular in fat bikes, or was. They clearanced a bunch of frames last year but were really popular like 5 years ago, and still see them often on the fat bike Reddit pages. Idk about mountain bikes though.

Call them, let them know of the mistake, and ask how they plan to resolve it. When they tell you that they'll send you a return label, let them know you've already spent an hour assembling the bike and you're not going to spend anymore time correcting their error and you might not even have the box anymore. Be quiet and hear what they suggest next. I'd let them know they are welcome to have the bike back, but they'll need to schedule pickup at your house for a fully assembled bike. If they say they can't do that, then I'd ask for a full refund, after all you did not get what you ordered. Take notes and when they say no, thank them. Hang up, call your credit card company and dispute charge, super simple case here...you didn't get what you paid for and vendor isn't giving you a reasonable return option. Just my two cents...

So you are suggesting they deliberately setup a no win situation in hopes that they can get a free bike. I don't know, that just seems a bit dishonest.

So is this bike as good as or equivalent to the marlin? I'm talking specs, parts, construction, long term reliability, etc. If it is, then at $200 cheaper (1/3 cheaper), I'm shocked word of mouth on social media (YouTube, etc, which is basically "free" advertising) hasn't made it a top seller. I mean, new brands/products "take off" all the time from social media. What's keeping this marlin-equivalent, yet way cheaper bike a secret? Something here doesn't add up.
What are you trying to say? Been having a bike alerts since 2019. This is the best priced bike in the past 2+years if you eliminate Costco /Walmart and Target bikes. I got Costco and returned it. Walmart was returned as well

Charge backs work like Amazon returns. One day your CC will stop allowing any charge backs.

I think he's saying just be prepared for them to give push back since this was a clearance deal with no returns technically according to the site. And all csr's have given the most wild answers on this sale including that it was discontinued and will never get more in when in fact they some how restocked the 18" and had other sizes to fulfill orders. The one person I talked to thought I was trying to swindle them some how when I wanted a different size. I dont know what they see on their end, but its not a website with 3 bike sizes apparently. Guy thought I was wanting a boat or something or new camper.

Just got my bike. Ordered the 20" 742421 and I got 742419. So I get to begin the fun as well I guess if its the 16", going to be too small for me.
