I got one and returned it immediately. App is not good and I was surprised at how poor the video quality was.

Don't reward Google. I got one myself close to release and between loss of power issues in extreme cold and the shoddy video quality (its just adequate) I would not recommend one. Yes the integration with the hubs actually works very well 90% off the time and the app is quicker than Ring even tho it's non-intuitive.

Face detection actually works well 95% of the time too in my case (announcing who is at the door is pretty nifty) but I wouldn't buy one today.

I also think their monthly price to get the face detection and extra storage is too much considering what I already pay for Google Photos enhanced plan for instance as well.

I really hope Google is going to make it right for us buyers of this when hopefully a new version comes out by offering at minimum a steep discount.

Yeah the newest generation Nest devices only work in Google app. Thanks for nothing, google.

agree there is so much latency within the app itself that I am switching to Unifi. Really disappointing product from google.

I have a Google battery camera (not doorbell) and it works well. I had a Ring. The Google has a wider field of view. Both have latency issues. I'm going to get the doorbell because it automatically connects to a Google Home to play video so it should be faster. By the way, I have my current camera playing through both Google and Alexa - but those are not automatic. When you get a notification you say to show it and then it pops up

After they cancelled the Nest Secure just a month after a big price reduction on it, every time I see a decent price reduction on other Google products I'm always thinking that they're about to cancel it. I still resent what they did with Nest Project because I bought it a month before it got cancelled from the Google Store, and they refused to allow me to return it.

If you're going for this deal whatever you do, DO NOT buy it direct from the Google store.

Do all Nest features work in the Google Home app now? Last time I was still using Nest products, I found that a lot of functionality still wasn't there.

Bought it yesterday and took it right back. Did not like it. Live streaming is laggy. My older Ring gen 1 does it better than this and even offer more features. this nest isn't it. Can't use NEST app got my wtf.
