This information is incorrect. I have this and I can view on tvs by requesting alexa to show XYZ location on the property, and also arm and disarm by saying the correct commands. So your con might just be using incorrect commands. Cheers 🍻.

We've had a 5 cam Blink setup for over a couple years now and they've really been great overall. Ya since they take batts it's not constant recording, but if you setup a schedule for them to go on and off as needed and use lithium batts they last an incredibly long time. I swap the batts out in them maybe once every 8 months or so. We have them turn on late at night about the time we go to bed then off shortly before we wake, and manually turn them on when we all leave the house. They have tons of options for sensitivity, motion detection zones, etc. Would highly recommend!

Funny I just got an email from Amazon saying they aren't going to support the cloud cam anymore and will be sending a blink camera.

The reviews on the sync module say you can only download and save videos from your cloud account so you cannot use it and replace of cloud. Can anybody confirm this because I'm trying to avoid paying for cloud and just having the sync 2 act like a DVR.

So it comes with sync module 2. As soon as I purchase usb disc and plug it to the module, I do not need to pay for subscription plan for video storage right?

Correct. My parents have this setup and that's how they are avoiding the subscription plan. For their purposes it works well.

Exactly, First the cloud cams, then the blinks. They are killing off a product that works perfectly fine so they can charge for for a subscription, and once they have cleared out the blink line, then they will expect you to switch to ring.

when you first set up the cameras, you automatically get 30 days of cloud storage activated and that's how it works when that is active. so anyone reviewing in the first 30 days will have that experience.

however, once the free trial is over, the cameras will record all events directly to the USB drive plugged into the Sync Module 2 and will continue to do so absolutely for free.

sounds like a big reason to buy up as many Blink cameras as possible right now if they're going to replace them with Ring cameras for us for free.
